Role And Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of developers/data engineers.
  • Responsible for enhancing the current scripts and writing scripts for data extraction and data wrangling.
  • Responsible for overall data wrangling, tool development, and technology implementation
  • Write Python and VBA scripts to extract data from different types of file formats.
  • Extract necessary information from unstructured data like articles, pdfs, and text files. (Must)
  • Ability to organize structure/unstructured raw data sources of many types with the ability to combine into useable data.
  • Write and manage complex SQL queries.
  • Explore opportunities to enhance quality of data and processes.
  • Proactive communication with project managers, ensuring all client requirements are met and reports are submitted on time.
  • Oversee implementation of tools and technology to build efficiency and consistency.
  • Resolve and escalate issues with tools and applications.

Desired candidate profile

  • 5 – 10 years of experience as a python developer.
  • Strong background within the role of a python developer/data engineer for capabilities such as
    • Knowledge of various programming language with a strong emphasis on Python, SQL, Power Query and VBA/Macros
    • Excellent knowledge in Microsoft Excel and knowledge of advance functions
    • Experience with SQL set-up and advanced queries development and maintenance
    • Strong technical knowledge in data mining, wrangling, and structuring
    • Managing large volumes of data with the ability to scale as needed
  • Ability to develop and design end-to-end solutions with operations/analyst groups for deliverables
  • Creating custom scripts and applications to perform wrangling, cleansing, and storing
  • Trouble shoot data issues at any level of a project.
  • Presenting data/reports as needed for leadership
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Passionate to drive business metrics – Productivity, Quality, and other key deliverables
  • Ability to prioritize between multiple complex projects/timelines
  • Excellent written and Verbal communication
  • High level of positive attitude with good listening skills
  • Ability to priorities between multiple complex projects/timelines
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to conduct root cause analysis
  • Candidates with demonstrated experience in Data Breach Response, or Incident Response will be preferred
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in breach notification and privacy laws around data breach scenarios is desirable but not must.
