JOB SCOPE
Role : Network Engineer
The Network Engineer is an important contributor in ensuring that the Telstra network delivers a superior network experience for our consumer and business customers. You use your telecommunications network skills and experience to contribute to specialist analysis, design, development and deployment in specific network technology domains, including how this technology inter-operates with other technologies.
Responsibilities
- This role is responsible for continuously improving service reliability and rapidly restoring customer incidents.
- Assist technical support team members to achieve optimal first in fix results
- Detect and prevent incidents before they occur.
- Aid the development and implementation of new technologies to ensure Telstra leads the ICT industry. (For example: Networking, SDN)
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve process, efficiencies, and customer experience.
- Provide input into learning and development for our entire ecosystem.
- Mentor and Coach support team members.
- Cross Skill into different technology hubs
- 24x7 Shift Environment
- Basics of Devops
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to order equipment, supplies and material within a prescribed process, and support senior team members in a timely and accurate manner to enable the smooth functioning of administration activities
- Seek the guidance of senior team members and escalate issues that arise where appropriate, ensuring the relevant stakeholders are kept abreast of important details
- Maintain relevant records and documentation for audit and reference purposes as guided by senior team members
- Utilise relevant tools and applications to determine how to access, present and share information
- Prioritise service requests in order to support other team members to drive the timely completion of strategic projects and activities
- Leverage communication skills and business unit knowledge to assist the business in managing day to day administrative tasks

- You will be given a high degree of autonomy and can work on initiatives to improve the performance and integration of systems, making a positive impact on customer experience.
