Job description
The final grade level will be determined by level of education and years of relevant work experience.
Essential Duties:
- Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support the establishment of the Country Coordination Unit (CCU); chair and coordinate the CCU to ensure delivery of its annual workplan.
- Streamline relations between SHiFT and the initiative s Strategic Partners in Bangladesh.
- Facilitate visits, workshops, and stakeholder consultations in Bangladesh.
- Actively engage with, represent, and connect SHiFT with relevant national food systems processes, events, and stakeholders engaged in the implementation of the Food System Transformation National Action Plan in Bangladesh.
- Engage with, represent, and connect SHiFT with CGIAR events and processes in Bangladesh.
- Align and stay informed about SHiFT s research in Bangladesh and provide, input into design, reporting, interpretation, and dissemination of key findings.
- Support capacity development and actively engage in monitoring and evaluation of food system transformation processes in Bangladesh.
- Actively engaged in dissemination of SHiFT s research and communication products.
Required Qualifications:
- Country Coordinator I - Master s degree in international nutrition, public health, health systems, economics, agricultural economics, public policy, or a closely related field and three years of relevant experience post master s degree.
- Country Coordinator II Any of the above-mentioned field and five years of relevant professional experience post master s degree.
- Familiarity with the food systems landscape (research, programs, policies) and stakeholders in Bangladesh
- Demonstrated skills in pro-actively developing and maintaining internal and external relationships with research teams, local and national implementing partners, government officials, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated excellent communication skills, such as writing reports and delivering presentations for different audiences.
- A team player who takes initiative and proactively shares information and collaborates effectively across functions, geographical distance, and cultures.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience working with and managing multi-stakeholder partnerships with multi-disciplinary research teams.
- Dependable, proactive in identifying and preventing potential problems, and able to prioritize competing demands in order to keep processes moving and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to travel domestically or internationally.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in engaging in policy dialogues with national stakeholders, international NGOs, and donor agencies.
- Experience in a varied range of participatory learning or capacity building methods, including curriculum development and training design.
Physical Demand Work environment:
- Employee will sit in an upright position for a long period of time with little opportunity to move/stretch.
- Employee will lift between 0-10pounds.
- Employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing computer terminal; extensive reading.
