Job description
Job Purpose Provide strategy and implementation services that enable IT Operations to achieve substantial cost reduction and business agility benefits through the use of automation and IaC processes. You will spend your time working on and with internal systems which automate, manage and support many parts of our data center and Hybrid cloud infrastructure. To be successful as a Senior Infrastructure Automation Engineer, you will be able to gather requirements, scope projects, and transform problem statements into actions, not just write solid code. You will work as part of the SRE team to automate the monitoring and management of our production systems. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining our automation scripts and tools. The ideal candidate will have experience with a wide variety of monitoring and management tools, as well as a strong background in scripting and programming. Essential Job Requirements
As a senior member of the team, you'll use both technical and interpersonal skills to lead large scale projects to completion. Automate day to day operations activities with various tools (Ansible, Chef) and languages (Python, Perl, Shell Scripts, PowerShell) Provisioning infrastructure components in multi cloud environments (Azure/AWS/Oracle) and deploy the applications. Experience with multiple large scale automation projects, including the end to end deployment of different platforms using IaC deployment (which is the process of managing and provisioning computer data centers through machine readable definition files, rather than physical hardware configuration or interactive configuration tools.) Following design principles to support release management, build, testing, deployment and configuration management. Working with engineering teams to propose features that solve recurring patterns of customer complaints. Familiarity with Linux/Unix/Windows operating systems and JIRA Strong analytical and problem solving skills High level Knowledge of the ELK stack would be an advantage (a collection of three open source products Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana). Technical knowledge of network and security management frameworks: A sound understanding of these framework and techniques is essential for solution pre requisites, designing and implementing effective Automation solutions in the IT Infrastructure space. Any experience with database systems (Oracle, MS SQL) would also be an added advantage. Other duties Performs Other Duties As Assigned. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 5+ years of experience in a AIOPS/ IaC role. 5+ years of experience working with Python and configuration languages such as YAML/JSON. Experience with configuration tools (Ansible, Puppet, Terraform). Strong troubleshooting skills to keep our services highly available Strong coding skills with a passion for writing clean, well tested, and maintainable code. Experience using and managing asynchronous task queues. Solid Linux / Windows command line skills. To build orchestrations through YAML and Python Experience with Solution integration, implementation of any of the following products with each other such as BMC Remedy, BMC TrueSight, Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics You have a knack for learning and adopting new technologies. You are able to inspire other people to work with you, and you enjoy mentoring and coaching more junior engineers. Demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple functions with client facing roles Must have strong ITSM/ITOM domain knowledge. In depth technical knowledge of automation solutions in the IT Operations space orchestrators, event and alarm management, task and workflow automation, analytics Must possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, customer interactions, and when submitting reports Comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of a technical organizationJob tags
