Summary of Position:
The Solution Architect supports project teams implementing infrastructure for global projects across APTIV's divisions, defining solutions to meet business requirements. The Solution Architect is involved from the initial shaping of the solution, creating designs and developing them into a High Level Design deliverable with associated cost estimations for execution and steady state operation.
The Solution Architect works closely with Network Solution Architect, End User Compute Solution Architect, Application Solution Architect, and the business in order to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective solutions and new technologies for managing changes in APTIV.
Responsibilities :
Primary responsibilities of this position are related to the architecture and delivery of solutions leveraging IT standards. Some of the specific responsibilities of this role include:
· Author infrastructure architecture including artefacts such as ROM (Rough order of Magnitude) , HLD (High Level Design) & BRD (Business Requirement Document) for programs, projects and initiatives.
· Own the solution end to end, incorporating input from colleagues, partners and SME's as necessary.
· Highlight areas of solution risk and dependency, with associated mitigation proposals.
· Oversee all technical aspects of implementations of end-to-end integrated systems.
· Maintain in-depth knowledge of the organization's technologies and architectures.
· Develop logical, conceptual and physical architectural models.
· Communicate solutions, architectural decisions, plans, and goals to project teams.
· Support business and IT strategic planning.
· Support Enterprise Architecture Governance processes.
· Review new and existing program/project architecture for compliance with IT standards, policies and architectural plans.
Candidate Qualifications :
The Solution Architect will be an overall effective communicator and leader. She/he will be able to conceptualize, plan, document and communicate effectively. The candidate will possess energy, have a flexible approach, be a creative thinker, develop value-added service definitions, and help lead change.
The successful candidate for this position will have the following experience and expertise:
· 3 - 5 years' experience as infrastructure solution architect
· Provided leadership in implementation of solutions, strategies and technologies
· Strong technical documentation skills to define and convey the solution
· Ability to multi task across several projects simultaneously, from projects size & complexity ranging from small to significant
· Architect level knowledge and hands-on background/experience with storage, backup, compute, cloud, network and virtualization technologies
· Very good understanding of Virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper Converged Infrastructure
· Experience of operating within a Security and Data Privacy focused environment
· Clear thinker who anticipates and develops strategies for anticipated future consequences and trends on both application and infrastructure areas
· Dedicated to meeting the expectations of internal and external customers
· Works collaboratively with multiple levels to develop innovative or creative solutions that work effectively
· Copes with change and makes good decisions
· Knows how to organize people and activities into an effective teams

o Wide experience with Server Hardware, but not limited to:

o Good experience working with networking, specifically Cisco networking, routing and switching
o Security technology awareness (encryption, access & authentication, network segmentation, firewalls)
o Experience of infrastructure monitoring and tooling
o Experience working with and architecting solutions in the Cloud:
§ AWS
§ Azure
o Application and Database experience considered advantageous
Educational Requirements :
· Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or information systems
· 10+ years relevant work experience
· Industry IT certifications are a plus
