Job Description
As an EMI/EMC Engineer, he/she will be responsible for preparing test plans from product specifications, make test setups and test, perform debug of EMC failures, analyse the results and generate reports. He/she will be responsible to study upcoming regulations and analyse impact, He/she should possess sound knowledge on power electronics topologies, electrical safety and electrical connections. Must have good knowledge on the various Emissions and Immunity tests and be able to test & work independently. He/She should be able to demonstrate good engineering judgment.
- Responsible for design and implementation of EMC solutions on SE products. Define component specifications and validation procedures to meet EMC requirements at the system level. Review and analyze data from DOEs, present findings to peers and management, and make recommendations on design changes.
- Detailed understanding of design and testing of ITE products for EMC compliance and deep knowledge in EMC/EMI debug techniques / Track record in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical sources of EMC failures.
- Proficient in reviewing schematics and layouts of printed circuit boards (PCBs) for emissions and immunity control. EMC best practices and lessons learned to ensure first pass success.
Tasks
- Perform EMC and Electrical testing as per International Standard/ Product specification.
- Understand EMI/EMC failures and proposes fixes and work towards resolution with design team.
- Study upcoming directives, regulations or standards and analyse impact of present portfolio.
- Willingness to work in laboratory in shifts.
- Proficient with Microsoft office tools in precise documentation of Testing.
- Strong proficiency in English.
Desired Skill sets
- Conduct EMC Design, layout Reviews & propose required changes to meet specifications.
- Identify the product certification requirement and standards as per country requirements.
- Study new regulation, regional requirements & directives and assess impact.
- Pre-compliance testing, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting of a wide range of EMI problems.
- Carry out product certification testing in accordance with European, and international standards.
- Analyse results and provide recommendations for mitigation of any issues.
- Understand requirements, plan schedule, budget and coordinate with internal customers and the Certification agency.
- Support the R&D and engineering teams during the development and design of the products.
- Collaborate with the program managers and design teams for seamless execution of projects.
- Knowledge of EMC STANDARDS like CISPR 11,22, 32, 35 and IEC/EN 61000-X-X, FCC
- Hands on experience in using Oscilloscopes, Spectrum analyzer/EMI receiver and Lab equipment's
- Perform Electrostatics Discharge (ESD) immunity test, Electric fast transient (EFT)/Burst immunity test, High energy/Telecom Surge immunity test, Conducted Emission, Radiated Emission, Harmonic emission, Flicker Emission Test under EMI/EMC Testing Division.
- Able to interpret Standards/OEM specifications to executable protocols
