Job description
The Finance BSG (Business Solution Group) is responsible for working with counterparts & leaders across the LSEG Finance organization in providing assistance to create and deploy streamlined and intelligent Business Solutions and work with counterparts within the company and clients to manage/operate complex end-to-end financial workflows.
- We are looking to hire an Asst. Manager, to augment our support for the aforesaid activities.
- The individual will be reporting to Senior Manager, Finance Operational Excellence / Manager Finance Business Solutions Group, the role will be based out of either Colombo Sri Lanka or Bangalore, India
Job Responsibilities - Work with the team engaging counterparts & senior stakeholders across LSEG Finance/ business divisions to deliver current projects in scope and/or leading conversations on transitioning/build-deliver/build-operate type of worklets
- Assume responsibility for solution build & deployment responsibilities for projects of medium complexity across business solutions domains involving current stakeholders
- Identify work-elements having repetitive, manual heavy processes, assess such work from a simplification point of view and work with colleagues @ Finance CoE or counterparts across LSEG Finance/Divisions to provide automation driven streamlined solutions
Must Have Attributes
- Urge to Learn: a demonstrated aptitude towards learning 'things new'; is a must.
- Eye for details and ability to identify trends/anomalies and provide causal attribution thereto are crucial
- A demonstrated ability to use tools, frameworks, and advanced techniques to address stakeholder ask to build a scalable, light-touch and robust solution is highly desirable
- Ability to communicate, both verbally and on correspondence; in a clear, concise, and engaging fashion with seniors, peers & colleagues across finance
- Demonstrated track record of significant and meaningful participation to ensure timely, accurate delivery of work at hand for self and the team
- A good understanding of the Finance function and the business will be necessary for the role
- Current exposure to enterprise systems in use across Finance and Operations functions will be a plus
- Educational Qualifications – Graduate degree in Commerce, Accounting, Science or Business Management and/or professional qualifications (CPA/CFA/CA/CIMA)
- Work Experience Required: 5-8 Years

Business Understanding
- Good understanding of the business context including an understanding of the products and services offerings and their user profiles
- Business Process Context - flow of money esp. for the area of work remit
- Understanding competition, pricing policies, linking individual business line performances to overall goal of BU/ LSEG entity
- Understanding context, environment, challenges to business and business strategies and the ability to identify areas where CoE Business Solution Group and/ or Finance CoE can partner with the stakeholders to provide efficient outcome
Relationship Management
- Aptitude to significantly contribute to interactions with divisional finance/business leads across all aspects of relationship spectrum; especially on current delivery/ transition & exploring adjacencies
- Exposure to managing wider group interactions with Peers & seniors to help expansion of the scale and scope of role of Finance CoE
Task Management Capabilities
- Thorough understanding of task at hand, understanding the objective of the underlying activities & the stakeholders' context for any work undertaken
- Ability to clearly map/articulate Upstream Dependency & Downstream Utilization
- Workflow mapping capability, esp. for identifying weak links, cut-over points, roles & responsibilities & time criticality assessment
- In addition, the incumbent would also be expected scale up to identify Vertical & Horizontal adjacencies, and become Subject Matter Expertise/Go To person for the Finance CoE in supported solution areas
Tools/workflow related knowledge
- Good understanding of the framework and tools and applications involved in one or more of the following areas
- ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) activities utilizing relational database or newer tools (Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau) addressing semi-structured, non-normalized data from multiple enterprise data sources
- Familiarity with/ expertise in one/more (computer) language frameworks, including libraries, addressing 'desktop automation' domains e.g., Visual Basic (VBA/vb.net)/ Python /
- Robotic Process Automation software esp. Microsoft Power Automate or UI path/Automation Anywhere/Blue Prism
- Visualization a.k.a. presentation layer, using Power BI/Tableau/SSRS, to create solutions allowing stakeholders to create storyline incorporating causal attribution and the ability to present such to the desired audience with minimal ongoing effort
