We are building next gen SaaS platforms for e-commerce and health-tech domains. About Role: We are seeking a skilled QA API Testing Engineer to join our dynamic software development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance with a focus on API testing. This role involves ensuring the reliability, functionality, and performance of our APIs by designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive test plans. The QA API Testing Engineer will collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to identify, document, and resolve issues, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products. Responsibilities: Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for API testing, focusing on functional, performance, and security testing. Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for API testing using industry-standard tools and frameworks. Perform manual testing of APIs to validate functionality, interoperability, and data integrity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback. Identify, prioritize, and report defects found during testing, utilizing bug tracking systems, and work closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution. Conduct root cause analysis of issues and provide recommendations for improvements to enhance the quality and reliability of APIs. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Stay updated on industry best practices, tools, and trends in API testing and quality assurance, and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies. Collaborate with software engineers to ensure testability and reliability of APIs during the development lifecycle. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide status updates, escalate issues, and advocate for quality assurance best practices. Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation related to API testing procedures, guidelines, and standards. Mentor junior team members, share knowledge and best practices, and contribute to fostering a culture of quality and excellence within the organization. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience in API testing with a solid understanding of RESTful APIs, protocols, and JSON/XML formats. Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, Rest Assured, or similar. Strong proficiency in test automation using scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or Java, and familiarity with automation frameworks such as Selenium or Cypress. Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments with a good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git) is a plus. Relevant certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB) are desirable but not required. Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling) and security testing concepts is a plus.
