About The Business

The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 2300 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, project Management, functional system testing, installation supervision, documentation and commissioning. However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest Operations hub.. The India Operations Centre team at Chennai, Bangalore and Gurugram supports Hitachi Energy's units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Hitachi Energy To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Your Responsibilities

  • As a Procurement & Logistics Specialist for, you will in close collaboration with our Sales, Tendering and Project teams in India, Northern America, and lead the Strategic Supply Chain Management in your projects from tender to project completion.
  • Based on tender / execution request, you will prepare and send RFQ to possible suppliers, ensure timely receipt and quality of requested offers.
  • You will be responsible for planning, executing and reporting project sourcing performance, establish Project Procurement Plan and oversee Order Placement Deliveries for timely execution and costs.
  • You are responsible to perform a regular demand forecasting cycle with our sales teams for Batteries and Converters incl. owning and enhancing the existing tools and process.
  • Furthermore, you will be leading the supplier relationship management to the key suppliers which consists of contracting, forecasting, issue resolution as well as leading the negotiations for frame contracts.
  • You will ensure adherence to all supplier related process and guidelines.
  • You will support project execution in resolving supplier related operational sourcing challenges.
  • Additional tasks include Supplier base development and risk management, Supplier Quality Management and Qualification, Claim Management and Supplier Performance Evaluation.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement projects in SCM perspective adding value to the business.
  • Proactively support the Engineering team in Dtv projects.

Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechanical with 2-3 years' experience in relevant field.
  • Sound knowledge of project supply chain execution
  • Technical, Contractual and Commercial understanding
  • Experience with working in an international environment across time zones.
  • Knowledge of SAP MM (S4HANA) is highly beneficial.
  • Analytical metrics-oriented, high motivation. Must be a collaborative team player, willing to take ownership of decisions.
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to communicate well and professionally with internal and external clients.
  • Works independently, applying established standards and instructs or coaches others in SCM matters.
