Job Description Summary
The IP Legal Paralegal will work with in-house Patent Attorneys, Agents and Engineers to support the invention disclosure process, patent drafting, filing and prosecution activities, patent docketing, invoice management and patent renewal activities in GLOBALFOUNDRIES. They will also be expected to support the IP team in other IP projects as the need may be.
Your Job
Docket and file incoming correspondence from USPTO/ other patent offices and outside counsel firms.
Scheduling invention review meetings for inventors.
Review and check monthly invoices against outside counsel work.
Prepare transmittal documents and information required for filing of patent applications with the USPTO.
Electronically file patent applications and office actions responses with the USPTO.
Prepare drawings for patent applications using MS Visio software.
Monitor and attend to correspondence from associate IP firms for foreign filings.
Assist the IP team to ensure smooth workflow for the patent drafting and filing process, such as monitoring deadlines for all patent applications and ensure that follow-up actions are duly completed.
File Section 34 Security Clearance or other forms with IPOS as required.
Coordinate patent renewal activities, including preparation of renewal lists.
Support IP team projects such as Innovation Week activities in Singapore.
Required Qualifications :
At least a Diploma in Legal Studies or equivalent.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in an IP legal department or law firm, familiar with the patent application process & requirements in the US.
Good spoken English and writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience docketing for patent prosecuti In-depth knowledge of the patent application process and associated paperwork for the US and/or other jurisdictions is preferred.
A good understanding of the patent laws in the US and/or other jurisdictions will be helpful.
Knowledge of MS Visio or similar software for preparation of drawings for patent applications.
