Global Strategic Equity Solutions - Business Risk Analyst
This SES Business Risk Analyst role will have global responsibilities for a book of both public and private equity financing transactions. The position offers exposure to several products, including Margin Loans, Private Equity Limited Partnership (PELP) financing, Net Asset Value (NAV) financing and Structured Lending (SLG). The Analyst will support the business in conducting due diligence on collateral issuers with the transaction team as part of initial underwriting and monitoring transactions through its life cycle, including reviewing compliance certificates, highlighting covenant compliance, transaction performance and trend analysis. The position will directly support and report into SES In Business Risk.
Responsibilities
- Assist the business with collateral issuer credit analysis on new and existing margin loans and fund financing and structured lending transactions.
- Work with senior members of IBR team and regional Originations teams (NAM, EMEA, APAC) on new and existing deals - from initial assessment to transaction memo review, booking, reporting and ongoing monitoring.
- Review compliance certificates and covenants in NAV, PELP and structured lending transactions, analyze portfolio trends and highlight significantly moves in the portfolio.
- Perform regular data checks and coordinate with operations to ensure accuracy and completeness of SES data, pull data for ad hoc requests.
- Run ratings of non-credit managed issuers and private equity funds in the CAT/Citi Financial/Helios system, review memos and complete quality control checklists.
- Complete regional annual portfolio review requirements for SES products, which includes working on issuer updates, assessing transaction metrics and collateral issuer financial performance, coordinating with Origination teams, helping to identify risks & mitigants, reviewing risk ratings and classification, ensuring timely data submission and accuracy.
- Track quarterly earnings of issuers in the portfolio and provide timely earnings summary
- Assist in managing and monitoring trends and developments in the existing Margin Loan, PELP, NAV and structured lending book, and work on portfolio reports, as needed.
- Assist with special projects and business initiatives including portfolio reviews, group policies and guidelines, regulatory requests, audit reviews, etc.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in corporate finance and credit risk analysis skills a plus strong organizational and data management skills, attention to detail and ability to coordinate deliverables across a variety of groups
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to create presentation materials
- Independent problem-solving skills and sense of ownership to follow-up and complete tasks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present recommendations in a succinct manner
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
