This role involves ensuring the security, integrity, and performance of databases, implementing data management policies, and collaborating with other IT professionals to optimize database functionality. The DBA plays a critical role in safeguarding data and ensuring the efficient operation of database. Key Responsibilities :Database Design and Implementation : Collaborate with development teams to design and implement efficient and scalable database structures. Working knowledge of replication on linuxData studio reports or similar reporting service knowledge. Working knowledge of replication on linux - you can edit in replication above Appscripts (Good to have)Database Security : Implement and maintain robust database security measures to protect sensitive data. Monitor and audit database access to ensure compliance with security policies. Database Performance Tuning : Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure optimal response times. Conduct performance analysis, troubleshooting, and capacity planning.Backup and Recovery : Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data against loss or corruption.Test and validate backup and recovery procedures regularly.Database Maintenance : Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as updates, patches, and version upgrades. Ensure databases are running efficiently and resolve any issues that may arise. Data Integrity and Quality : Implement and enforce data quality standards and integrity constraints. Collaborate with data stewards and data owners to ensure accurate and reliable dataCollaboration and Communication : Work closely with other IT team, including developers and system administrators, to integrate database systems with other applications. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand database requirements and provide technical support. Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures. Create and update documentation for troubleshooting and issue resolution. Disaster Recovery Planning : Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for databases to minimize downtime in the event of a system failure. Conduct regular tests of disaster recovery procedures. Training and Knowledge Sharing : Provide training to other team members on database best practices and procedures. Stay informed about industry trends and emerging database technologyQualifications : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 5 years experience as a Database Administrator. Proficiency in database management systems (MySQL, SQL Server). Knowledge of database security and data protection best practices. Strong understanding of database performance tuning and optimization. Experience with backup and recovery procedures. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Certification in database administration is advantageous (ref:hirist.tech)
