Responsibilities:
Credit Risk Assessment:
- Evaluate creditworthiness of MSME loan applicants by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant financial information.
- Assess the business model, industry dynamics, and market conditions to determine the risk associated with each MSME proposal.
Underwriting:
- Review and underwrite MSME loan proposals in accordance with established credit policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Determine appropriate loan structures, terms, and conditions based on the risk profile of the MSME borrower.
Due Diligence:
- Conduct thorough due diligence on MSME applicants, including site visits, discussions with business owners, and verification of financial information provided.
Portfolio Management:
- Monitor the overall performance of the MSME loan portfolio.
- Implement risk management strategies to mitigate credit risks and ensure the overall health of the MSME lending portfolio.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with relationship managers, sales teams, and other departments to gather necessary information and ensure a comprehensive understanding of MSME clients.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay abreast of changes in regulatory requirements related to MSME lending and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Decision Making:
- Make informed and timely credit decisions, balancing risk and business objectives.
- Present credit proposals to the credit committee or other relevant decision-making bodies.
Relationship Building:
- Build and maintain relationships with MSME clients, understanding their financial needs and providing tailored credit solutions.
Credit Monitoring and Reporting:
- Monitor the ongoing financial health of MSME clients and take proactive measures to address emerging credit risks.
- Prepare and present regular reports on the performance and risk profile of the MSME loan portfolio.
Credit Policy Development:
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of credit policies, procedures, and risk management frameworks.
Qualifications:
- 5 to 8 years of experience in Credit space
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees (MBA, CFA) may be preferred.
- Several years of relevant experience in credit risk management, with a focus on MSME lending.
- Strong understanding of financial analysis, credit risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make sound and independent credit decisions.
- Familiarity with industry-specific challenges and opportunities in the MSME sector.
