Incident Handling and Response (HC 9) Position Overview:

We are inviting experienced faculty members to join our prestigious institution for the subject of "Incident Handling and Response" in the MSc Digital Forensics and Information Security program. The chosen faculty will play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in incident management, response, and forensic readiness.a Responsibilities: Module Delivery:

Conduct engaging lectures covering incident management, perspectives, vulnerability assessment, prevention, detection, analysis, containment, eradication, recovery, and the incident response life cycle. Investigation Phase:

Guide students through pre-investigation, investigation, post-investigation, forensic readiness, business continuity, and the incident response life cycle. Emphasize maintaining inventory, monitoring hosts, networks, applications, and health and safety issues. Types of Incidents:

Teach the classification of incidents, incident prioritization, risk levels, mitigation, controlling risks, implementing security controls, sources of incidents, incident identification methods, and reporting procedures. Improving Security Policies:

Discuss the improvement of security policies post-incident, attack signatures, common targeted assets, asset handling and management, orchestration, response, playbooks, forensic readiness planning, and incident handling and response best practices. Honeypots and Incident Documentation:

Introduce honeypots, types, tools for setting up, collecting evidence from honeypots, incident documentation, incident impact assessment, incident detection, and learning from incidents. Qualifications: A postgraduate degree in Digital Forensics, Information Security, or a related field. Demonstrated expertise in incident handling, response, and forensic readiness. Previous teaching experience at the postgraduate level will be advantageous. Skills and Knowledge: Proficiency in incident management frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, NIST SP 800-61 Rv2. Experience in vulnerability assessment, detection, analysis, containment, eradication, and recovery phases. Familiarity with incident response teams (CERT/CSIRT), attack vectors, and investigative techniques. Knowledge of risk levels, risk mitigation, security controls, and incident prioritization. Practical experience in maintaining inventory, host monitoring, network monitoring, and application monitoring. Work Location:
