Job Summary:
As a Senior Engineer, the role is to lead New Product Design, Value Engineering and Quality & Reliability. The role will be accountable for Quality of Outcomes, Execution, and Cost management – Q/D/C's with competent project management skills and hands on exposure to Thermal, HVAC domain.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver NPD, quality, and Value engineering projects meeting Q / D / C targets
- Lead and Execute product development activities and collaborate with peer teams for – Concept generation, Design & Development, Planning, Prototype Build, Testing and Manufacturing support
- Drive Phase gate Product Development Process - Leads the Design reviews, Design verification testing, Pre- and Post-Production activities with the team, identify opportunities for improvements & able to convert failures as lessons learned
- Able to solve medium to complex technical problems in a structured thinking approach – Good understanding and exposure to engineering problem-solving tools.
- Demonstrate a strong data-driven approach for driving decisions.
- Should have the ability to coordinate and organize the work assigned with minimal supervision or support.
- Able to conduct – Root cause analysis, Product Teardowns, and Idea generation sessions
- Collaborate and develop detailed Part and assembly models in CAD environment and ability to manage large assemblies. Able to interpret and create detailed manufacturing drawings
Qualifications:
- BE degree/ Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering
- 6 - 9 Years of Industry Experience
- Work experience from OEM manufacturing or Product companies would be preferred – Thermal, HVAC Domain
- Hands-on experience with 3D modelling CAD software (SolidWorks/Creo – Sheetmetal, Solid modelling, Drawings etc.)
Key Competencies:
- Relevant work experience within HVAC / Refrigeration industries is a key requirement for the position
- Strong understanding of fundamentals and competency in handling Engineering and Product development projects
- Able to document and drive design maturity process through the various phases – Hands-on exposure and complete understanding of DFMEA, DVP, DFS, DFM and design validation test plan development processes.
- Provide coaching and mentoring support as per individual team members' needs for continuous development
- Should be a strong team player and possess the ability to work with a cross functional team.
- Demonstrates the ability to communicate in clear and concise manner
- Exposure to Simulation driven design approach – Ability to understand, interpret and take corrective design actions based on Structural (FEA) and Fluid analysis (CFD) reports
- Good working knowledge of Manufacturing processes like sheet metal operations, Welding, Injection Moulding etc., are added advantage.
- Good understanding of component design practices for Metal and Non-metal components
