Job description

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 6 years of experience as a technical writer.
  
• Experience with technical documentation, developer facing, Cloud APIs, networking protocols, or network architecture.
  
• Experience with HTML or markdown in a Unix environment.

Preferred qualifications:

• 10 years of experience as a technical writer, documenting technologies with researching and writing documentation for developers.
  
• Experience with computer networking technologies, such as DNS, routers, the BGP routing protocol, firewalls and firewall rules including iptables, Virtual Private Networks and cloud-based services, and load balancers and proxies.
  
• Experience with public Cloud technologies such as Cloud Networking technologies, Compute technologies, ML/AI technologies, or data systems (e.g., Data Warehousing, Analytics, SQL).

Responsibilities

• Write technical documentation for developers and network and security engineers, including concept documents, how-to guides, and API reference documents.
• Design and organize documentation sets for new features.
• Rewrite and reorganize existing documentation to improve the customer experience.
• Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others, and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing skills.
• Manage documentation projects, and take responsibility for the quality of documentation.
