Job Title : Manager - Analytical, Evonik Organic Chemistry Research Lab (EVOCRL) Mumbai, India

Key Responsibilities - Independently handle instruments such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC), Optical microscopy, Particle size analyzer, UV-visible spectrophotometer, IR spectroscopy, Mass spectroscopy (MS), GPC, tensiometer, viscometer, contact angle measurement, etc. Maintaining and troubleshooting in case of instrument breakdown.
- Develop new analytical methods and techniques and validate for characterization of intermediates, actives, products and solutions developed for various applications such as home & personal care, pharmaceutical, coating & paint, polymer, surfactant, lubricant & others
- Provide accurate data interpretation, draw relevant conclusions and recommendations to the technical teams working in R&D
- Carry out analysis of routine, non-routine samples. Provide complete specifications, impurity profiling, physical chemical characterization (e.g. based on registration needs)
- Ensure close collaboration, communication and information sharing within the analytical teams located across different regions. Collaborate with external service providers for outourcing of analytical methods if needed.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging and new analytical technologies developed either internally or externally. Bridge the gap through deep research and development of own Intellectual property rights.
- Participate in project technical meetings and contribute from analytical standpoint
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the lab and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate efficiently with a team of scientists both internally and externally to ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget.
Educational & Experience requirement : - PhD in Analytical chemistry with 2-3 years of industrial experience or MSc in analytical chemistry with 7-10 years of industrial experience
- Excellent hands-on experience in handling of various analytical instruments
- Strong and broad knowledge in analytical chemistry principles and techniques
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, reliability and capacity to perform well under pressure – also in times of heavy workload.
- Excellent communication skills in an international environment
