Job description
Overview:
The PL/SQL Developer plays a crucial role in designing coding testing and maintaining database systems using PL/SQL. They are responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of the database. This role is essential in optimizing database performance and supporting datacentric applications within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop PL/SQL procedures functions packages and triggers
- Optimize and tune PL/SQL code for performance
- Collaborate with frontend developers database administrators and other team members to integrate backend logic with the frontend
- Create and maintain database objects such as tables views and indexes
- Implement and maintain data security using roles and privileges
- Develop and maintain database documentation
- Perform unit testing and debugging of PL/SQL code
- Identify and troubleshoot database issues and performance bottlenecks
- Participate in the design and implementation of data models
- Assist in database schema design and application architecture
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to deliver highquality solutions
- Stay updated on industry best practices and technologies related to PL/SQL and database development
- Support production deployments and provide postimplementation support
- Adhere to coding standards and best practices
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field
- Proven experience as a PL/SQL Developer or Database Developer
- Proficiency in writing and optimizing PL/SQL code
- Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture
- Expertise in SQL and data modeling
- Experience in performance tuning and query optimization
- Ability to work with large datasets and complex data structures
- Knowledge of data security and compliance standards
- Strong problemsolving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced dynamic environment
- Good understanding of version control systems and continuous integration
- Certifications in Oracle and PL/SQL are a plus
- Familiarity with ETL processes and tools is an advantage
