Supporting Actions
Planning & Budgeting
- Develop comprehensive ventilation plans based on mine layout and production requirements. Estimate the costs associated with the installation, upgrades & maintenance and submit the budget data to DH -Safety.
- Plan the placement and installation of Permanent Ventilation Stoppings, Temporary Stoppings, Air Crossings, Isolation Stoppings, and Airlocks to create a comprehensive ventilation circuit in discussion with relevant stakeholders and Head Colliery.
- Track expenses, maintain a record of the ventilation instruments and their calibration, main mechanical ventilator (MMV) and submit report on a regular basis as per the provisions of CMR -2017.
- Track expenses to ensure compliance to budget for the standard of ventilation as per provisions of CMR - 2017.
Ventilation Installation and Maintenance
- Oversee the installation process, ensuring that Permanent Ventilation Stoppings, Temporary Stoppings, Air Crossings, Isolation Stoppings, and Airlocks are placed correctly according to the ventilation plan
- Ensure that installation is carried out safely and efficiently, adhering to relevant safety protocols.
- Conduct daily inspections of the ventilation circuit, including ventilation stoppings, air crossings, and isolation stoppings, to ensure quality and integrity
- Plan and ensure adequate ventilation as per the standards to working places of the mine and other areas based on ventilation survey on regular basis as per the provisions of CMR - 2017
- Monitor record readings, MMV performance and ensure maintenance as per schedule in consultation with SH- E&M and adjust as necessary to maintain optimal airflow as per the provisions of CMR -2017
- Conduct surveys related ventilation, dust, temperature, and air sampling at regular intervals. Perform regular gas surveys to detect hazardous gases such as methane and carbon monoxide
- Maintain all records and registers for the purpose of ventilation, gas, dust and temperature etc. as per the provisions of CMR 2017 in consultation with the Head Colliery
- Maintain all ventilation plans and update the status of ventilation survey at regular intervals as per the provisions of CMR - 2017.
Safety and Compliance
- Ensure that all ventilation related activities comply with UTCL standards and the provisions of CMR - 2017 with regular review and monitoring
- Maintain the design, selection, and positioning of auxiliary fans, regulators, and airducts to ensure adequate ventilation for the safety of personnel and efficiency of the equipment deployed in the mine.
Continuous Improvements
- Assess and enhance ventilation system efficiency in a continuous basis
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures related to ventilation, ensuring readiness for any unforeseen situations or emergencies
- Perform root cause analysis for any deviations observed
- Implement CAPA for all deviations.
People Development
- Train and develop the shift personnel which include subordinate mining officials about mine ventilation system.
Qualification: Diploma/B.Tech in Mining Engineering with 1st or 2nd class competency certificate.
Having 3 years of exposure on ventilation system of underground mine working with total 7 years of underground experience.
