JOB SUMMARY

Primary job function

• To work closely with the farmers at field grass root level with high-level focus on education & improvement in current ongoing field practices.
• To drive & execute dairy development / extension activities in the milkshed area ensuring capability development for farmer base in terms of Clean Milk production, Milk Quality & Quantity enhancement.
• Create & sustain momentum amongst dairy suppliers to adopt good animal husbandry practices.
• Assurance of quality milk supplies at the Bulk milk coolers installed in milkshed area.
• To ensure Smooth operations at Bulk Milk Coolers by having sound liaison with Farmer, facilitator & dairy supplier.
• Drive & execute specific programmes for Women Empowerment at field level.
• Drive & execute specific programmes for Water Sustainability at field level.
• Drive & execute specific programmes for Dairy GHGE (Greenhouse gas emission reduction) Sustainability initiatives at field level.
• Digitalization of Dairy Development data with more advanced techs i.e Power BI
• Trending and Tracking of Dairy development Data.
• Strengthening milk traceability Chain up to farm level to ensure right quality at source.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

u2022 Responsible for dairy extension support to farmers at the Grass route level to ensure uninterrupted source of milk supply for dairy ingredients to business.
u2022 Responsible for improving the knowledge & technical know-how of farmers on dairy feed, herd management, Animal Housing system other good animal husbandry and Agricultural practices.
u2022 Responsible for organizing animal awareness camps & carrying out dairy extension training programmes in the field.
u2022 Responsible for smooth operations of Bulk milk coolers along with assurance of quality milk supply.
u2022 Responsible for sorting out day-to-day issues of farmers & facilitator pertaining to their animals, payments & other issues that may arise from time to time.
u2022 The incumbent will also be responsible for gathering information in the field on the competitor activities, milk prices offered, milk procured from the milk shed area & creating generating fortnightly/ Monthly MIS report.
u2022 Responsible for supporting the current ongoing dairy development activities run by dairy supplier.
u2022 Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
u2022 Aflatoxin and Antibiotic Control- Monitoring of AF M1 level in milk. AFM1 & Antibiotic free milk meeting regulatory norms.
u2022 Animal Welfare- Animal Welfare training and Implementation
u2022 Ethno-Veterinary medicine (EVM)- Training & Implementation of EVM in animal treatment to reduce the uses of Antibiotics in Animal treatment to produce Antibiotic residues free milk.
u2022 Execute Dairy Sustainability initiatives u2013 Water Sustainability, Dairy greenhouse gas emission reduction initiatives
u2022 Data monitoring- Trending and Tracking

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education: Bachelors
Education Level: Masters

Major/Field of Study: Bachelors in agriculture science/ Veterinary Science/Agri Business Management/Horticulture Sciences/Farm Management/ Dairy Technology

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

Experience: 5+ years

Experience Details:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in dairy extension / Milk Procurement / Milk quality improvement projects/ Farmer development projects/ Nutrition product manufacturing industry/Dairy technology with exposure of field level.
• Knowledge on milk contaminants and Aflatoxins testing will be an added advantage.
• Proficiency in Marathi language.
