Job description
Overview: A Site Engineer plays a crucial role in the construction and development of projects by overseeing the on-site operations, ensuring that work is carried out according to specifications, plans, and quality standards. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, architects, and various construction professionals to achieve project goals within set timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers and architects to understand project requirements.
- Contribute to project planning and scheduling, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers for timely delivery of materials.
- Supervise and manage daily on-site activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Monitor construction progress and quality of workmanship.
- Resolve on-site issues and conflicts promptly to maintain project momentum.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure construction meets industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and tests to identify and rectify any defects or deviations.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Assist in the development of project budgets and cost estimates.
- Monitor expenses, track costs, and report any budget variations.
- Optimize the use of resources to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including drawings, reports, and site records.
- Prepare progress reports for project stakeholders.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to address concerns and provide updates on project progress.
- Ensure client satisfaction by addressing queries and resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Lead on-site construction teams and provide guidance to workers.
- Foster a collaborative and safety-conscious work environment.
- Ensure adherence to local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Obtain necessary permits and approvals for construction activities.
- Identify and address technical and logistical challenges that may arise during construction.
- Propose innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.
- Proven experience in construction and site management.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and AutoCAD.
