The Senior Research Analyst - Iron ore and Steel will apply solid analytical capabilities and knowledge to enhance Wood Mackenzies analysis and services to customers
Reporting directly to the Head of Steel and Raw Materials, you will be responsible for developing a good understanding of our clients interests and provide frequent, rigorous, and sharply written analysis as part of our publication schedules
You will also lead innovative and differentiated trends, insights, and thought leadership articles and publications
The analyst will communicate regularly with clients as well as internal stakeholders, sharing our views and engaging in mutually beneficial communication
Main Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive coverage of the iron ore and DRI sector - including
Author regular publications providing our near term and long term outlook for iron ore sector
Analyse decarbonisation trends shaping the steel and raw materials industry and lead our coverage, especially for iron ore and DRI.
Author differentiated market analysis and thought leadership pieces on topical themes surrounding the ferrous space.
Develop and maintain contacts with industry stakeholders to gather intelligence that will enrich the quality and timeliness of our research solutions.
Effectively communicate our research and analysis to clients.
Work closely with colleagues in allied groups like energy to help shape the company's integrated view
Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Mining/ Geology/ Metallurgical Engineering or Economics/ Business etc.)
Detailed knowledge of ferrous industry especially steel, iron ore, and the wider metals industry
Excellent numerical analytic capabilities, including problem-solving and technical skills in Excel
Presentation experience
Systemic work-load management and planning skills
The ability to work as part of a team, which will involve multiple locations and time zones
Good networked in the industry with contacts across the value chain
A strong commitment to commercial excellence and ability to deliver the high-quality standards
