About The Role Role Purpose: As the Manager of Database Platforms, you will play a critical role in overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of our organization's cloud database infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities: - Database Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for managing database platforms in the cloud.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and align database solutions with organizational goals.
- Cloud Database Management:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based database platforms.
- Manage and optimize database performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices for cloud-based database management.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard sensitive data.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards for database platforms.
- Collaboration:
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, encouraging continuous learning and skill development.
- Vendor Management:
- Evaluate and manage relationships with cloud service providers and database technology vendors.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution:
- Respond promptly to database-related incidents and provide technical expertise in problem resolution.
- Implement effective monitoring and alerting solutions to identify and address issues proactively.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in managing database platforms in a cloud environment.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud database technologies (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud Spanner).
- Indepth knowledge of Microsoft Sql Server and awareness of DB2, Oracle
- Strong understanding of database security, backup, and recovery best practices.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
