Job Summary In this role, you will have an opportunity to be a key product builder within Comcast Technology Solution's exciting new cyber security business unit, which sells SaaS and subscription security and data solutions to large enterprises and federal governments. This is a dynamic, fast-paced business unit that resides within a highly entrepreneurial division of Comcast that takes what Comcast builds internally and commercializes it for external usage. Currently, two solutions, BluVector and DataBee, both used internally by the Comcast CISO organization, are sold by the business unit. These solutions are advanced threat detection, advanced threat hunting and security operations center and compliance offerings that improve security and compliance in a cost-effective manner. The Data Engineer role is responsible for developing and executing a critical portion of the new DataBee product, which is the industry's first security, risk and compliance data fabric platform. A SaaS solution built on the top cloud-native hosting and data technology, the DataBee solution is inspired by tooling used widely in Comcast's security and GRC teams and has delivered tremendous cost savings as well as faster detections, less noise, and higher compliance. In this role, you will be a key member of our data feeds team. You will help model and map version data sources in near realtime to assist security analysts in detect threats and security compliance experts in continuously monitoring their enterprises security posture. You will have the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of security vendors and product data, understand modern security data models and frameworks, perform testing and validation, be exposed to other DataBee scrum teams, and have ongoing technical leadership. Responsible for security data modeling, security log mapping, Extract Transform Load (ETL), and configuration management . Performs deployment, testing, and validation of multiple software components . Recommends alterations and additions to existing designs to improve quality of products . Works with operational teams to develop and improve monitoring solutions, plan and schedule maintenance, and implementing changes . Communicates progress of work in progress, key initiatives, and walkthroughs on complex designs and architecture . Works under immediate supervision - Typically reports to a supervisor or manager Employees at all levels are expected to: . Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar, and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area . Experience in deploying systems and applications, monitoring, ETL, and configuration management . Working knowledge with ETL systems: ETL using Vector, Benthos or similar technologies and storage/planning with Snowflake, Databricks or similar technology . Strong understanding and experience with structured query language (SQL), JSON and regex . Familiarity with cybersecurity logging tools and formats (eg. CEF, syslog, EDR logs, AV logs, FW logs, etc.) . Experience identifying useful information for security analysts in a new event source (ips, hostnames, etc.) .
