About The Role
Grade Level (for internal use): 09 Shift Timings: 24*7 (Rotational Shifts) The Role: Engineer II, PAS Tech Ops, Level 2 support technician in a high quality 24 X 7 technical system/application support Team. Providing support to Commodity Insights applications that are utilized by both an internal & external Global customer base. You will provide an exceptional level of support to complex applications involving operating systems, sub system and software components while working within the limits of established policies and ITIL framework. The Team: You will be working within the Operations team within Commodity Insights in either Hyderabad or Gurgaon. Exposure to application support, operations, monitoring and projects in a role where you will interact directly with the business and learn the products and systems required to support the Platts business operations Responsibilities An active member of the Level 2 Application and Infrastructure Support team following the guidelines of established policies and ITIL framework. Responding to escalation from Tier 1 teams within specified timing in order to restore service Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues using resources that include personal technical ability, run book, solution database, diagnostics flow charts and senior members. Provide in depth application support via assorted media including telephone and online collaboration and chat tools. Interact with internal teams and external 3rd party vendors to trouble shoot and resolve complex problems Understand and maintain application monitoring and performance tuning tools to identify anomalies quickly. Follow appropriate departmental and company procedures and policies (i.e., change control, security and auditing, release, configuration, problem and incident management). Provide input to administering and maintaining all production and internal environments Provide input to change control implementations, backup and roll-back plans Act as a technical resource for internal and external projects Utilize and contribute to robust procedures and processes within the TechOps team Responding to logged service requests, account administration, software installations and general application and server administration. Maintain good working relationships with internal departments as well as 3rd party vendors. Fast learner and someone who's exploring opportunity to learn new technologies. What We're Looking For 3+ years previous experience in troubleshooting & supporting applications running on Linux Windows server OS Previous Experience on Cloud Infrastructure. Exposure to CI/CD Experience with API fundamentals 3+ years previous experience in Automated Deployments 3+ + years previous experience MCSA and RHL Certification (Highly preferred)3+ years previous experience with OS/Server Patching. 3+ years previous experience with Application releases and Patching. 3+ years previous experience supporting Webservers Windows IIS -.Net Linux Apache, and WebLogic -Java Core / JMS Experience with supporting multi-tier infrastructures Superior understanding of the following Protocols, TCP/IP, SSL, JMS, FTP, Telnet, DNS, DHCP, VNC, RDP, NAT, SMTP Working knowledge networking components and troubleshooting tools (Load balancers, routers, Firewall, NAT, DMZ, AWS) Tools Putty, RDP, SSH, WinSCP, MySQL Query Browser, Oracle SQL Developer Microsoft Office / Office 365 especially Excel (Macros, Worksheets and add-ins) Excellent communication Skills.
