Job description

The Project Delivery Manager is responsible for successfully delivering gas panels for gas compressors in the Oil Gas industry. This includes managing all aspects of the project from start to finish, including planning, execution, and commissioning. The Project Delivery Manager will work closely with customers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The Project Delivery Manager will also be responsible for leading and managing dedicated project teams and global cross-functional teams, performing project risk evaluation throughout the entire project lifetime, coordinating the resolution of any technical or commercial conflicts, acting as John Crane's single point of contact to support the customer for post-order activity through to project delivery, and maintaining a communication channel with the client OEM/EPC organisation.

The Project Delivery Manager is responsible for achieving cost, quality, and delivery targets within the agreed project scope.

Duties Responsibilities

What you'll do -

Project Initiation:

- Partner with the Sales team for a comprehensive review of incoming orders and ensure timely order handover.

- Collaborate with Sales teams to clarify techno-commercial contract issues.

- Align the Sales, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams on project requirements.

- Ensure accurate maintenance of all related order documentation.

Stakeholder Management ; Communication:

- Coordinate a preliminary pre-KOM with primary stakeholders.

- Organize a KOM to ensure alignment of all stakeholders on project scope and timeline. - Ensure timely and effective communication with regional stakeholders.

- Regularly engage with involved EPC/OEM and communicate with their senior management when necessary.

Project Planning Execution:

- Develop, maintain, and execute detailed project plans.

- Liaise with the Engineering team for timely generation and review of critical documents.

- Coordinate with customers for timely engineering reviews and approvals.

- Manage changes to original engineering specifications with proper documentation.

- Monitor the engineering approval process for adherence to schedule and quality.

Vendor and Procurement Management:

- Engage with Procurement and Engineering teams for vendors for technical alignment on project requirements.

- Collaborate with the Procurement team to prioritise and expedite the procurement process for long lead items.

- Oversee the review and approval process of supplier drawings and datasheets.

- Partner with Procurement and Engineering to update and align the Bill of Materials for manufacturing.

Manufacturing Coordination:

- Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.

- Relay special manufacturing or dispatch instructions to the Operations team.

- Collaborate with Operations to update the Manufacturing Planning Schedule.

Risk Budget Management:

- Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring costs remain within approved limits.

- Continuously perform project risk evaluations, taking corrective actions when necessary.

Quality Documentation:

-Define and communicate quality and certification requirements for manufacturing.

- Maintain records of project correspondence and produce project close-out summaries. - Provide monthly reports on project status.

Continuous Improvement:

- Drive initiatives to enhance delivery processes and customer satisfaction.

- Work on the development of Project Delivery Management processes for the EMEA region.

The Individual

What you'll definitely need -

Degree in a technical discipline: Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred.

12-15 years of experience in Oil ; Gas / Petrochemical projects, with five years as a Project/Contract Manager.

Strong technical knowledge of Turbo Machinery/gas panels for the Oil Gas industry.

Experience with API 618/API692 and other relevant API/ASME standards

Ability to interpret complex project specifications and drawings.

Comprehensive understanding of basic finance.

Experience with project management tools and methodologies

Proficient in Microsoft suite

PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills; willingness to travel up to 30%.

Planning and Decision Making:

Ability to make quick decisions regarding complex project issues, reducing risk to John Crane and the customer.

Develop specific project plans to ensure successful delivery.

Empower project team members to make quick decisions to keep projects on track. Impact and Scope:

Critical project delivery role influencing the success of strategic, global projects valued at about 2-5 million GBP.

Working with all regions, internal and external customers. This role focuses on wet seal systems with the ability to learn gas panels and filtration.

Key Internal and External Relationships:

Internal and external customer-facing role.

Ability to collaborate and influence effectively with key internal and external stakeholders across multiple regions and cultures.

Maintain a network of internal and external project managers within customer OEMs and project EPCs.
