Job description
Manage the 3rd party outsourcing to support product development of the PWR Business unit of Renesas .
Optimization of “big picture” for all engineering 3rd party resources to support decisions on strategic partnerships to support ongoing Renesas projects.
This role involves working in Semiconductor domain where skills in areas of project portfolio management, (resource tracking, project scenario planning and overall resource budgeting), contractual employment and tool development are essential.
Job Purpose:
Support role to 1000+ person engineering organization in the areas of 3rd party vendor management working in conjunction with Resource portfolio management. It will involve resource tracking & scenario planning, resource budgeting, supporting the development of commercial legal documents such as SOW’s and negotiation with 3rd party design service companies.
Generation of “big picture” (dashboard) for all 3rd party engineering resources to support decisions on new project fit to engineering capacity.
Contractor efficiency analysis to identify and drive execution efficiency improvements.
Owner of organization wide improvement initiatives.
Primary Accountabilities
-Outsourcing Management:
Align with Renesas strategy to build relationships with semiconductor contracting service providers and work globally within Renesas to negotiate skilled resource requirements and cost. Be able to negotiate both internally and externally on the contracts, analyze the requirements and be able to work with the stakeholders to decide on right outsourcing strategy for India.
- Develop 3rd part resource allocation plans and forecasts (working with each Business Units)
- Project analysis
Effectiveness measurement.
Work closely with site Design Controllers and Sites to understand bottlenecks.
Align to resourcing demand vs. capacity against BU roadmaps, identify conflicts and risks, and drive resolution with engineering leaders
Generate regular reporting of consolidated resource loading, availability and resource gaps Budget rollup and forecasts for all of R&D engineering (including headcount/hiring)
Allocate and track per BU
Ensure no silos between BUS and 3rd party outsourcing is following PWR and Renesas strategy. Standardize all usage including ensuring consistent onboarding working with IT.
Key Performance Measures:
Micro-Electronics design and/or manufacturing experience.
Knowledge of Adaptive works (Planview/Clarizen) and/or other Resource management tools.
Ability to produce bottom-up dashboards and reports for appropriate reporting level.
Ability to communicate both written and verbally in English at high level. (requires working remotely with the management team worldwide where English is not the first language)
Able to demonstrate interpersonal skills working with all levels of management.
Able to demonstrate an understanding of negotiation skills.
Scientific/engineering background.
Ability to analyse large amounts of data and develop strategic outlooks regarding 3rd party vendors.
Knowledge of Excel including the use of Pivot tables.
Able to easily travel to EU/USA and Asia.
Able to demonstrate a resilient mind. (stay focussed and not give up when nothing appears be working)
