Job description
Position: Simulation & Analysis Engineer (Mechanical)
Location: Research & Innovation Park, IIT Delhi
Duration: 3 months (with potential for extension)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Simulation Engineering Intern (Mechanical) to join our engineering team. In this role, you will utilize simulation software and tools to analyze and optimize the performance of mechanical components and systems for our electric bicycles. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in areas such as finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and multi-body dynamics (MBD). This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge electric vehicle technology and gain valuable simulation engineering experience in a dynamic startup environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineers to define simulation objectives and requirements for mechanical components and systems.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) simulations to assess the structural integrity, durability, and performance of bicycle components under various loading conditions.
- Perform computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to analyze airflow patterns, heat transfer, and aerodynamic performance of bicycle designs.
- Utilize multi-body dynamics (MBD) simulations to model and analyze the dynamic behavior and motion of mechanical systems, including suspension systems and drivetrains.
- Interpret simulation results and provide recommendations for design improvements and optimization strategies.
- Assist in the development and validation of simulation models by comparing simulation results with experimental data and physical testing.
- Document simulation methodologies, assumptions, and results in technical reports and presentations.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, mechanics, and materials science.
- Proficiency in simulation software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, COMSOL Multiphysics, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and multi-body dynamics (MBD) techniques.
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor) for geometry preparation and model generation.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Benefits
- Hands-on experience working on real-world engineering projects in the electric vehicle industry.
- Mentorship and guidance from experienced engineers and industry experts.
- Opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative electric vehicle technology.
- Potential for future career opportunities within Surface Moto based on performance and business needs.
- Stipend, certificate & letter of recommendation upon successful completion of internship.
