Job description
Assistant Manager- Maintenance
Ensure delivery of Engineering Services as per ITC standards, safety norms and regulatory requirements. Ensure execution of CAPEX requirements of the factory.
Engineering graduate (Mechanical) with a
minimum of 6 years of experience out of which 3-4 years in similar
Industry(Foods/FMCG)
Strong knowledge of basic working
principles of utilities like HVAS, Boilers, ETPs, water treatmentBasic Knowledge of latest technology with respect to equipments and
engineering developments
Strong Knowledge of foods related statutory requirements
Strong Knowledge of engineering services providers and vendors

Definition
IN ORDER TO, what results
Identify
and prepare plans for the required maintenance and engineering services for
the plant. Based on same, recommend theengineering budget to the Operations Manager. Define norms for
engineering stores, monitor and review the implementation of preventive
maintenance schedule.
Prepare
engineering related budgets (e.g. spare-part budget, engineering services
budget, engineering modification budget) based on historical trends and
current requirements; Submit the budget to the Operations Manager for inputs;
Jointly finalize the budget; Identify the spare parts required for
engineering services; Evaluate the procurement cost of the spare parts based
on the approved budget; Identify the vendors for spare parts; Participate in
price negotiation for spare parts; Define engineering store norms and ensure
spare parts availability as per the norms; Prepare preventive maintenance
schedule based on OEM manuals for all the equipments; Monitor and review the
implementation of preventive maintenance schedule IN ORDER TO ensure smooth
preventive maintenance and spares management at the plant
Based
on inputs from production team, identify quality and process improvement
initiatives. Prepare action plan for the same, driveexecution and monitor progress.
Seek
requirements from the production team for improvement initiatives with
respect to quality improvements, reduction in change over time, machine
downtime; Analyze root cause for the machine downtime (process issue, product
issue etc); Identify the requirements of the equipment / engineering services
to improve quality and reduce downtime / change-over time; Prepare the action
plan for the improvement initiative; Modify the existing machinery to reduce
the downtime and change-over time; Conduct cost benefit analysis in case new
machinery needs to be procured to reduce the down time / change-over time;
Identify and select the vendors basis the cost benefit analysis; Coordinate
for installation of the machinery IN ORDER TO improve the overall efficiency
of processes with respect to reduction in downtime and change-over time
Identify
and recommend requirements of new equipments/engineering services for
existing lines to meet/improve plant performance. Justify, recommend vendors
and execute smooth installation, commissioning and stabilization. Provide
support to Manager Projects in new capacity installation projects.
Identify
the requirement of new equipment / engineering services for development of
new product, improve productivity, cost reduction, asset replacement, utility
and infrastructure up gradation; Identify vendorsfor the new equipments; Obtain vendor
quotes and evaluate technical feasibility of the vendors; Shortlist vendors
and prepare justification note based on technical feasibility; Present vendor
recommendation and justification note to Plant Manager for vendor selection;
Participate in price negotiation with the vendors. Install / commission the
equipment at plant; Evaluate the equipment on various performance parameters
during commissioning; Handover the equipment to production team oncethe commissioning is completed.
Deploy
resources to production team to maintain machine upkeep and reduce downtime.
Resolve day to day escalated issues to ensure smooth operations.

ensure smooth production operations
For
New SKU Manufacturing , deliver machine readiness (change parts) as per
agreed norms and defined timelines.
Identify
vendors for the new change parts based on specifications received for new
SKU; Obtain vendor quotes and evaluate technical feasibility of the vendors;
Shortlist vendors and prepare justification note based on technical
feasibility; Present the vendor recommendation and justification note to
Plant Manager for vendor selection; Participate in price negotiation with the
vendors; Follow-up for release of purchase order once the vendor is selected;
Follow-up with the vendor for the receipt of the new change part; Install /
commission the new change part at the plant; Follow-up with finance team for
release of payment for the new change parts N ORDER TO ensure change parts
readiness for new SKU manufacturing
Monitor
and review performance of maintenance and utilities related indices. Identify
gaps, recommend actions and execute the same.
Monitor
and review utilities related key performance indicators like power
consumption, fuel consumption on daily basis; Prepare weekly performance
reports; Consolidate weekly reports on monthly basis; Provide feedback on
plant performance to the Operations Manager IN ORDER TO improve overall
performance of the utilities at the plant
Evaluate
the gaps in equipments and engineering services according to EHS manual.
Prepare action plan, once approved, close the same.
Evaluate
the gaps in equipments and engineering services with respect to corporate EHS
manual; Prepare the action plan to rectify the gaps; Coordinate with EHS
auditors with respect to engineering related EHS norms for the plant; Provide
justification about the engineering activities to the auditors during the
audit; Prepare solutions to fulfill gaps identified by the auditors during
the audit; Submit the solution report to the auditors and the Plant Manager
for approval; Work upon the solutions once approved IN ORDER TO ensure that
engineering services and equipments are complied to all EHS norms
