Senior Program Manager

Expedia Group is seeking a motivated, highly driven and hardworking Program manager to work in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, high-energy environment.

In this position, you will own the program working with a team of engineers, and product managers building features for an in-house large-scale system and work with business and product partners to drive the roadmap and strategy for the group in this area. As someone who loves to look beyond the status quo, you will be in tune with team dynamics and constantly work to improve your team. You will use agile methodologies to plan ahead , understand and communicate priorities clearly and work closely with product owners, engineers and partners to distil product ideas down into shippable user stories.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct functional walk through of features/functionality for the brands in focus
  • Perform data, functional & tech stack analysis to build streamlined requirements that address customer issues
  • Work with Product to build roadmap and project plans for technology teams to deliver on.
  • Identify risks, issues & drive them to mitigation/resolution as required
  • Produce presentations & status reports to keep partners & team members abreast on priorities, efforts and goals.
  • Keep open channels of communication among all Expedia team members.
  • Understand how well your team delivers, actively seek feedback and improve how the team works.
  • Balance speed and quality while driving development, release and problem resolution.

Who Are You

  • Excellent written and verbal communications; able to improvise and communicate ideas/positions on an ad hoc basis
  • Excellent skills at encouraging working relationships and driving teamwork .
  • Solid attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • High degree of proficiency with project management including issue and risk identification and management, handling change and its prioritization, resource and task scheduling and communication of project status and details.
  • Experienced with capturing business requirements, removing ambiguity and working with the team to build clear plans and project artifacts with attention to detail.
  • Experience in working with Senior leadership across multiple product and engineering areas
  • Experience on developing highly available and scalable products with alert and monitoring systems.
  • Experience delivering products in web/ RESTful APIs and data systems.
  • Exposure to delivering products using cloud infrastructure.
  • Should have a good understanding of basic UI stack and High-level designs.
  • Good to have an understanding on NO-SQL, and an exposure on JIRA plugins
  • This role is not expected to code at any point of time but must have the sound technical breadth to handle any technical meeting.
  • 10+ years of experience directly and indirectly leading large product-based software development projects
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science , Engineering or related technical field
  • Solid experience in building, developing and operating teams of technical program managers who owned and optimally drove enterprise scale, multi-functional technical projects
  • Strong bias-to-action, problem solving & organizational skills
