Overview:
The Merchandiser Head of Department plays a crucial role within the organization by leading and overseeing the merchandising activities ensuring effective inventory management and driving sales through impactful product presentation. This role involves strategic decisionmaking team leadership and close collaboration with various departments to maximize product visibility optimize stock levels and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement merchandising strategies to drive sales and meet company objectives
- Manage the departments budget forecasting and inventory control
- Lead mentor and motivate the merchandising team to achieve targets and deliver highquality displays and product placement
- Analyze sales and market trends to optimize product assortment and pricing
- Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms pricing and promotions
- Ensure effective visual merchandising to enhance the overall customer experience
- Monitor competitors and market dynamics to identify opportunities and threats
- Oversee space planning and product layout optimization to drive footfall and sales
- Coordinate with marketing and sales teams to align promotional activities with merchandising strategies
- Ensure compliance with company policies standards and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Business Marketing or related field
- Proven experience in merchandising preferably in a leadership role
- Demonstrated success in inventory management and stock control
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- Proven negotiation skills with suppliers and vendors
- Uptodate awareness of market trends and consumer behavior
- Proficiency in relevant merchandising software and tools
