Job Description: We are looking for passionate senior ETL engineers, with Talend experience, who can assist in the process of maintaining all the relevant sources of data and ensuring that it is being stored properly. He/she is involved in developing the ETL processes and is involved in designing and preparing the codes that meet the program specifications.
Responsibilities: Senior ETL engineers need to implement data integration routines using Talend technology. The primary responsibility include:
- Designing and developing (enhancements and maintenance) new ETL and Business Intelligence Solutions using Talend with Snowflake, S3, and Redshift
- Participate and deliver on new cloud data warehouse projects
- Design and develop data pipeline frameworks on data collection, processing and storage across data stores
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the development process and environments
- Involved in coding, testing, implementing, debugging and documenting the complex programs
- Creating proper technical documentation in the work assignments
- Understands the business needs and designs programs and systems that match the complex business requirements and records all the specifications that are involved in the development and coding process
- Ensures that all the standard requirements are met and is involved in performing the technical analysis
- Responsible for assisting the project manager by compiling information from the current systems, analyzing the program requirements and ensuring that it meets the specified time requirements
- Should be ready and open to pick up new technologies and tools
- Resolves complex problems associated with the designed programs
Skills and Qualifications: The ideal candidate should have worked on end-to-end data warehousing / data lake and / or business intelligence solutions in the past using Talend technologies. The candidate should have the following skills sets:
- Strong experience in a BI/Data Warehouse environment with involvement in design, development, implementation, troubleshooting and support of ETL process using Talend
- Experience in developing Data Marts, Data warehousing and Operational Data Store (ODS) on any of the databases or Hadoop environments
- Should be having good experience in Database with DWH concepts, and other DWH related terms.
- Experience in Performance Tuning and Query Optimization by Indexing, Partitioning and Denormalization
- Should be well versed with migration strategies by manual and automated processes
- Should have experience in supporting the environment team for all the migrations, and other activities
- Extensive knowledge of business intelligence best practices, processes, and methodologies
- Good to have knowledge of Talend Pipeline designer, Talend Open studio for data quality and Talend ETL
- Good to have programming experience in writing Complex Stored Procedures, Queries, Views, User Defined Functions, Cursors and Common Table Expressions using SQL or T-SQL
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills (both verbal and written), and ability to interact with and effectively address concerns
- Excellent prioritization, time management, analytical, and organization skills - able to determine what needs to be done and gets it done
- Good to have Visualization skills with Tableau, Qlikview, etc.
- Team Foundation Server experience or any version control and scheduling tools
- Experience in cloud data eco-system, specifically with AWS. Experience in AWS data components like S3, Redshift & RDS, managed services like Aurora & Athena are desirable
- Should have strong implementation experience in three or more tools from any of the below technologies:
- Data integration - ETL tools like Talend and Informatica. Ingestion mechanism like Flume & Kafka
- Data modelling - Dimensional & transactional modelling using RDBMS, NO-SQL and Big Data technologies. Experience in Snowflake modelling would be an advantage
- Data visualization - Tools like Tableau
- Master data management (MDM) - Concepts and expertise in tools like Informatica & Talend MDM
- Big data - Hadoop eco-system, Distributions like Cloudera / Hortonworks, Pig and HIVE
- Data processing frameworks - Spark & Spark streaming
- Experience working in an Agile Environment is required
- Excellent interpersonal, communication skills (both verbal and written), and ability to interact with and effectively address concerns
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Good understanding of the data eco-system, both current and future data trends
- Should be a go to person for the above technologies
- Minimum 4-6 years experience in data engineering space using above technologies with few high complex and high volume project experience is mandatory
