Role Summary The Workday team require a security specialist to assist with maintaining and troubleshooting the security configuration. The security specialist will also be key to delivering an ongoing programme of refinements to the security model, with the aim of making it simpler and more robust, in line with the business's key value drivers of Simplify, Strengthen and Scale.
EQ utilises almost the full range of SKUs, as well as Prism, Discovery Boards, Worksheets and Slides. The team have an ambitious roadmap of further developments across the HCM, FIN and Reporting SKUs. Effective configuration of security is paramount to the delivery of this work.
Role Responsibilities - Analyse business requirements and work with SMEs/Team Members to identify and propose appropriate solutions.
- Troubleshoot user security issues. Test and propose solutions in collaboration with other team members and stakeholders.
- Set up new security groups, and modify existing security groups, in line with the strategy of 'simplify and strengthen'.
- Identify duplicate or redundant security groups and manage the process of removing/merging them without disrupting end users.
- Work closely with the Workday Reporting team to identify security changes needed to give user groups access to the correct data.
- Work closely with Workday team members to ensure security changes are aligning with all other development work.
- Clearly explain security setup to users with both high- and low-levels of technical expertise.
- Review system upgrades/releases to identify if/how they impact our security. Conduct testing and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
- Support security related regression testing after changes are made to domain and business process policies as part of projects and continuous improvement.
- Assist in reviewing/approving Workday/HR application security requests and create and document proper internal security controls.
- Work with the Global Process Owners for sign off on the Quarterly Security Review.
- Maintain simple, clear security documentation that enables team members and Global Process Owners to understand and use security groups/roles correctly.
- Recognise changes/proposals that could have unintended negative impacts, and clearly explain/communicate the risks to relevant stakeholders.
Essential Skills - Expert understanding of the Workday Security model:
- Able to understand and explain all aspects of security.
- Strong understanding of the purpose/benefits of different security group types.
- Able to analyse problems and propose solutions.
- Excellent spoken and written English:
- Able to clearly explain complex security setup.
- Able to gather nuanced requirements.
- Able to discuss benefits/disadvantages of different options.
- Able to identify requests that would have negative side-effects and negotiate alternative solutions.
Preferred Skills - Strong knowledge of all reporting capabilities within Workday, including Drive.
- Experience of both Finance and HCM modules and associated business processes
- Understanding of the Prism security model.
- Good knowledge of Workday integrations with other applications.
- Experience of researching and testing new features in the bi-annual Releases.
Interpersonal Skills - Strong analytical skills, problem solving, attention to detail and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with a focus on documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Other Details - Location: this role is based in our Chennai office·
- Shift work: based on UK office hours (afternoon/evening in India).
