Champions continuous improvement on the manufacturing floor.
Innovation is a key requirement. Proposes and helps to develop evolutionary and revolutionary material improvements, product processes and fabrication improvements.
Works with Sales to develop (new) products to meet customer's needs.
Oversees engineering efforts to develop / design materials, tooling, production methods and processes that will result in the lowest cost, most robust and most consistent to produce products.
Responsible for maintaining processes not limited to BOMs( Bill of Materials), ECN's(Engineering Change Notice) and DCNs(Document Change Notice) to maintain ISO/TS requirements.
Reviews MRB items for determination of usability.
Able to identify, specify and / or design capital equipment as needed to produce a salable product.
Will ensure that Capital projects are submitted with correct pricing and documentation to prove capabilities and cost savings of equipment being specified for purchase
Performs FMEA's, CFAT's and PPAP's when required
Assist with technician and operator training on new equipment, processes and procedures
Implement Process Capability index (Cpk), Statistical Process Control (SPC) where appropriate and teach associates within the basics of these techniques so as to allow utilization of these production monitoring and improvement methods within the organization.
Must be willing to travel as appropriate.
Should possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline with a minimum 8 - 10 years experience.
That experience must include a minimum 5 years in an engineering leadership function with full leadership responsibility Minimum of 5 years of Experience in rubber manufacturing industry.
Candidate's background must include heavy product design experience.
Experience and leadership within a LEAN discipline.
Such as Kaizen/5S and/or Six Sigma.
