Job Summary:
About the Role:
As the viewership data expert of Nat Geo’s programming team, your data backed insights will guide the strategic thinking for content planning and monetization. You will work with large data, apply an analytical lens and present the findings in a clear and easy way. You will use analytics to uncover growth opportunities, create actionable recommendations for content and programming. You will also be an active contributor to brand led consumer research. You will liaise with various stakeholders across the business and be a strong contributor to the overall growth strategy of the business. You will be a central repository of knowledge, by collating and managing databases from internal and external sources. You will participate in discussions and provide insights using data analysis and research.
Context
Nat Geo India programmes 6 channels in India including National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild. We work in close alignment with Nat Geo globally, but also are closely in tune with the viewership demands of our market. Content selection, promotion plans and sponsor packages are crafted with viewership metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Weekly television ratings analysis, tracking and competition mapping for the infotainment genre
- Identifying the key viewership movements shaping the genre and TG viewing habits
- On-air promo campaign pre and post evaluations for big ticket properties
- Provide inputs on marketwise viewership trends and identify potential market opportunities.
- Maintain regular weekly and monthly MIS
- Collaborate across teams to provide support on all TV viewership projects/analysis required by business
- Prepare presentations and data analysis to top management teams as and when required
- Be the point of contact for all Global queries and interactions
- Drive brand led market research as well as any other qualitative and quantitative research as required by the business
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of work experience in data analytics, preferably in a media, broadcasting company.
- Thorough knowledge of BARC and its software is essential.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel to clean, aggregate, pivot, manipulate, and graph data.
- Expertise in data visualisation like dashboard creation
- Experience in presenting concise analysis and recommendations with Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Should be a Graduate with mathematics and Statistics led subjects.
