QUALIFICATIONS

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You will be based in our Chennai or Gurugram office as part of McKinsey’s Finance Global Operation Service Center, a part of our Global Payroll Operations Team.
You will work closely with the existing payroll operations team, tax teams, as well as other cross-functional stakeholders such as HR, Benefits, and Finance to ensure that the end-to-end payroll input and output processes are optimized and drive standardization of the US payroll operations. 
WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of the US Payroll Operations.
You will be responsible for all aspects of US payroll operations within the Shared Service Center. You will oversee the timely processing of US payroll transactions, ensuring accuracy, compliance with relevant regulations, and adherence to established timelines. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in US payroll, a deep understanding of payroll processes, and the ability to drive efficiency and excellence in service delivery. This position will have full accountability for the quality of payroll processing.
You will lead and manage a team of payroll professionals, providing guidance, support, and coaching; foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team. You will conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and identify opportunities for professional development. You will evaluate the skill requirements of each team member and obtain the necessary training materials to maintain a high quality of service.
You will identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll operations; work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and implement best practices; develop, implement, and review KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
You will conduct regular audits to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with internal policies and external regulations; stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance; prepare and submit required payroll-related reports to regulatory bodies.
You will communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding payroll-related matters; address inquiries and provide timely and accurate information to employees and management.
You will collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather payroll-related data and resolve any discrepancies; monitor and report payroll performance to key stakeholders and work with Finance leadership to develop and drive strategy to meet the organization's strategic objectives.
