Mainframe Developer
Position Description
Works independently under limited supervision and applies knowledge of subject matter in Applications Development. Possesses sufficient knowledge and skills to effectively deal with issues, challenges within field of specialization to develop simple applications solutions. Second level professional with direct impact on results and outcome.
Essential Skills:
Highly competent in processes involved in systems analysis and use of appropriate tools for resolution. Including understanding design factors, system capacities, hardware and software requirements, designing, coding, documenting, programming and supporting tools, testing, and debugging programs.
Excellent verbal and communication skills also client interaction skills
Excels in ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with subordinates, peers and management.
Required Skills:
Highly proficient in COBOL, IMS, DB2, CICS, and JCL
Proficient in establishing CICS table entries for new programs, transactions and files
Knowledge of project design considerations for interfacing with distributed applications, coordinating project designs and implementation plans
Experience in project life cycle phases including analysis, design, programming and implementation
Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
Flexible to work in client timings and good attitude
Should have guided 8 to 10 mainframe members and handled end to end delivery.
Proactive thinking and ready for upcoming tasks/business
Ability to think and act independently to resolve production defects
Willing to learn client proprietary and legacy technologies that are demanded by project in short term.
Good to have banking domain experience
Good to have CA7, Easytrieve knowledge
