Hybrid Working
Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:
We are looking for a high-quality candidate to join the IB MO function. The role requires someone with extensive business knowledge, analytical and relationship skills, strategic mind-set and programme management discipline to help drive the build-out of the function as well as support the broader department and organisation objectives.
This is a challenging role requiring the successful individual to partner, coordinate and drives progress across global teams and different business areas as well as partner closely with key stakeholders and colleagues around the firm. This also presents an excellent opportunity to join a market leading organisation and business area and play an active part in driving the long-term development of the function in an area that is key to the future success of the financial services sector and at the heart of industry development and regulatory focus.
What will you be doing?
• Perform trade validation of Rates Derivatives and Structured Rates products following the completion of trade capture.
• Monitor and manage exceptions for trade flow / trade representation and intra-day clearing controls
• Perform EOD controls reporting global handover reports of outstanding trade exceptions to global stakeholders
• Perform key External/Internal reconciliations for Rates and structured.
• Monitor and validate the completeness and accuracy of all intra-day trade lifecycle events.
• To operate as the point of contact for both internal and external client queries and liaise with various business areas and front-to-end support teams to seek resolution.
• Deliver effective controls and services to upstream and downstream business functions.
• Support project & new product initiatives and assist with the implementation of strategic deliverables for the business from an operational perspective.
• Collaborate with global counterparts and different stakeholders to drive opportunities for process development and improvements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with business colleagues across trading, Finance, Operations and Technology.
What we’re looking for:
• Essential:
 Degree educated or equivalent qualification
 Preferably have 4-5 years’ experience in supporting Rates products
 Strong understanding of the end-to-end process flows and the control points along the process chain
 Proficient in Microsoft Office products
 Good verbal and written communication skills
 Strong team player, self-starter with positive attitude
 Able to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines with a good sense of urgency and accountability
Skills that will help you in the role:
1. Someone with prior experience in working in the Middle office with knowledge about Rates and Structured Derivative products. Some of the products would be Interest rate swaps, Inflation Swaps, Cap and floor, Swaptions, Zero coupon Swap, cross currency swap.
2. Candidate should have prior experience in supporting external/internal reconciliations and knowledge about Markitwire and clearing houses like LCH, CME, Eurex etc.
3. Candidate should have atleast 6-8 years of overall experience out of which atleast 5 years working with an investment bank.
4. Candidate should have a good understanding about lifecycle of a trade and should have experience working with trading/sales desk.
5. Strong risk and control mindset and someone with basic knowledge if not expert in VBA Macros or Alteryx is desirable but not a mandate.
