Job Description A Senior QA Engineer specializing in manual QA is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications and systems through manual testing processes. Their job description typically includes the following:
- Test Planning: Collaborate with the development team to understand project requirements and create comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Test Execution: Perform manual testing activities, including functional, regression, integration, and system testing, to identify defects and ensure software meets quality standards.
- Defect Management: Document and track defects using bug tracking tools, and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Test Documentation: Create and maintain test documentation, including test cases, test scripts, and test reports, to provide clear and concise information about the testing process and results.
- Test Strategy Improvement: Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, identify areas for automation, and provide recommendations to enhance overall software quality.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business analysts, to ensure effective communication and alignment throughout the testing process.
- Mentoring and Leadership: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior QA engineers, share best practices, and contribute to the professional growth of the team.
- Quality Assurance Standards: Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in manual testing, and ensure compliance with quality assurance standards and guidelines.
- Test Environment Setup: Set up and configure test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations, to replicate production environments accurately.
- Test Coverage Analysis: Analyze test coverage and identify areas of improvement to ensure comprehensive testing and minimize the risk of defects in production.
- Test automation (good to have): Experience with test automation process and tools (Selenium, etc.) is good to have.
