Job description
Key Accountabilities :- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to understand software requirements and use cases.- Design and develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional testing.- Execute functional and regression tests to identify defects, ensure proper functionality, and validate user expectations.- Report and document defects using issue tracking tools, including steps to reproduce and detailed descriptions.- Participate in the continuous improvement of QA processes, methodologies, and best practices.- Provide feedback on software design and functionality to improve user experience and application quality.- Conduct exploratory testing to uncover potential usability and functional issues.- Collaborate with automation engineers to identify opportunities for test automation and develop automated test scripts.- Mentor and guide junior QA engineers in testing techniques, processes, and tools.- Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in functional testing and quality assurance.Key Performance Indicators :- Timely completion of test plans, test cases, and test scripts.- Effective identification and reporting of defects and issues.- Successful collaboration with development teams for defect resolution.- Adherence to established QA processes and methodologies.- Contribution to the improvement of QA processes and practices.- Progression of junior QA engineers' skills and knowledge.- Participation in project meetings and timely communication of testing progress.- Consistency in maintaining accurate testing documentation.Key Interactions :- Business Analysts- Software Developers- QA Manager or Lead QA Engineer- Product Managers- Project Managers- Automation EngineersQualifications, Experiences, Skills :Minimum Qualifications and Knowledge : - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).- 4 to 5 years of experience in functional software testing.Minimum Experience : - Extensive experience in designing and executing functional test cases for software applications.- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and testing methodologies.- Experience with testing tools and issue tracking systems (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).- Previous involvement in mentoring junior QA engineers or team members.- Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.Job Specific Skills : - Proficient in creating test plans, test cases, and test scripts for functional testing.- Solid understanding of QA processes, methodologies, and best practices.- Excellent communication skills for reporting defects and collaborating with development teams.- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify software defects.- Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting test results and defects.Core Competencies : - Collaboration and teamwork for effective communication with cross-functional teams.- Time management and multitasking skills to meet testing deadlines.- Adaptability to changing project requirements and priorities.- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with industry trends and testing practices.- Leadership qualities to guide and mentor junior QA engineers.
