Senior Kubernetes
As a Senior Kubernetes Platform Engineer within the AKS track of the central cloud team (HaCT) , you'll assume a pivotal role in architecting and implementing fully automated (IaC/Terraform), secure, reliable, scalable, and resilient cloud-native solutions on Azure. Operating in a highly technical and cross-functional environment, you'll collaborate closely with Kubernetes engineers, the platform delivery lead, solution architects, enterprise architects, and other stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a self-driven individual with a cloud-native mindset, profound expertise in building Kubernetes platforms on Azure, and a fervor for continuous learning.
This is a hands-on role.
. Architect and Manage Kubernetes Platform on Azure:
o Help d esign, develop, and manage a modern Infrastructure as Code Kubernetes Platform on Azure, adhering to the GitOps paradigm , working directly under the Kubernetes Platform Owner.
. GitOps Implementation:
o Implement and maintain GitOps practices within the Kubernetes platform, utilizing tools like Flux CD to ensure seamless and automated deployment of infrastructure supporting dozens of application teams.
. Collaborative Solution Building :
o Engage with architects, engineers, and product managers to ensure design alignment with technical and business directives.
. Infrastructure as Code Development:
o Write clean, high-performance, well-tested infrastructure code (Terraform - Must have) with a focus on reusability and automation (e.g., Python, Go).
. Enhance Customer Experience:
o Understand developers' requirements and craft innovative solutions to elevate the overall developer experience.
. Kubernetes Expertise:
o Extensive multi-year h ands-on experience with Kubernetes on Azure
o Intricate knowledge of Kubernetes internals, CRDs, Operators and the controller pattern
o Kubernetes ecosystem: mastery of Helm, battle-tested experience with upstream charts such as kube-prom-stack, ingress controllers, service meshes, misc. tooling
. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Proficiency on Azure:
o Strong understanding and practical multi-year experience with IaC principles through Terraform
. GitOps Proficiency:
o Practical experience implementing and managing GitOps workflows in Kubernetes with tools like Flux CD .
. Software Development Background:
o A strong software development background is required to understand all the moving parts and contribute effectively (Java, Go, Python, etc.)
. Collaborative Problem Solving:
o Collaborate with Cloud/DevOps engineers to solve technical and design challenges specific to Azure.
. Architectural Overview :
o Provide recommendations for architectural changes on AKS to enhance efficiency, reliability, performance, and reduce costs .
