Hybrid Working

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

As a Risk RTB SME responsible for managing the service quality provided to the Risk stake holders and takes E2E responsibility of service operations. The E2E support includes ensuring Application management , KPI monitoring and reporting, service availability and the platform stability

What will you be doing?

•    Production stability: -
o    Hands on to support production environment of a critical service platforms
o    Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents.
o    Rotational On-call and Weekend work 
•    Tech Delivery: - 
o    Responsible for the definition and execution of service improvement plans including RTB projects
o    Work on  business, enterprise, and support team initiatives and projects 
•    TechOps and DevOps Focus:
o    Engagement with Business Operations and development to ensure value driven delivery with agility and stability balance.
o    Drive process improvements, system monitoring, and automation 
•    Service Reporting/Reviews and Application Management: - 
o    Engagement with Global RFT RTB leadership to review KPIs and SLAs.
•    Service Escalation: -Lead Incident and Problem Management through to resolution. Operational escalation point for Incident, Problem, Change, Release and Configuration Management.
•    Ensures and promotes ITIL best practices for Incident, Problem, Change, Release management (including managing and running triages, conducting root cause analysis, post incident reviews etc)
•    Business & Tech Change Delivery: - 
o    Implement production software releases and post release checkouts
•    Service improvement: - Working with the team and owning service improvement plan and Risk identification and mitigation.
•    Experience in configuring observability tools – EsaaS , AppD, Netcool
•    Business continuity management, presentation of KPIs and metrics and work on infra-activities and auditing (Risk and Control) for applications.
•    Technology resilience - planning & executing resilience events.    
•    Preferred expertise in code debugging, building visual front end layer for critical business process / metrics


What we’re looking for:

•    Personal attributes essential to performing role including competencies, expertise, knowledge, and experience.  
•    Experience ranging from 4-8 years with primarily Run The Bank roles in financial institutions, consulting or technology companies or Programme management roles in other industries
•    Hands-on/technical experience with high proficiency in SQL, Oracle
•    1-2 years of Windows experience
•    3-5 years of Unix, Java, database technologies primarily in Investment Banking domain. (Exposure to Risk business area will be preferred)
•    Knowledge of Investment Bank and IB risk functional knowledge 
•    Experience with ITIL concepts and best practices. Experience of using configuration management tools and reporting.(preferred Service Management Tool - Service First / SNOW)
•    Experience in batch monitoring tools (preferably - Autosys)
•    Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills suitable for a diverse audience, with the ability to communicate in a positive, friendly and effective manner with ‘technical’ or ‘non-technical’ users/ customers
•    Strong analytical approach to problem solving
•    Self-motivated, proactive with strong analytics and reporting skills. 

•    4+ years’ experience in production support.
•    High energy, hands-on and results & goal-oriented
•    Expertise in log debugging, root cause analysis and troubleshooting live issues. 
•    Experience on observability tools like ESaaS, AppD , Netcool
•    Experience in data analysis to identify underlying themes impacting stability, performance, and customer experience. 
•    Ensures and promotes ITIL best practices for Incident, Problem, Change, Release management (including managing and running triages, conducting root cause analysis, post incident reviews etc)

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Knowledge on cloud and DevOps principles are desired. 
•    Knowledge of or working experience in cloud technologies, automation tools.
•    Familiar with big data platforms like Hadoop, ETL tools like Ab-Initio etc.
•    Knowledge of IB Business – clear understanding of trade lifecycle and Market data
•    Knowledge of Risk management function will be preferred
•    Preferred expertise in building visual front end layer for critical business process / metrics
