Position : Universe Programmer AnalystExperience Required : 5+ yearsLocation : In office job - 130 Glidden Rd, Brampton, ON L6W 3M8 , Brampton, Ontario, CanadaBudget : 90-100k CADJob Type : Fixed term contract( Monday to Friday)JOB PURPOSE :This position is responsible for the administration, programming, maintenance, and development of the Rocket Universe system, providing user support, report creation and training as required. The incumbent will work closely with the IT Manager and lead various development requirements. The ideal candidate is service oriented and customer-focused with Universe development, support, report writing and code enhancement experience.SCOPE/DIMENSIONS :The incumbent will work with all departments providing systems support for Brampton and other sites as needed.The incumbent interacts with employees in the office and plant while providing systems support as required. The incumbent will also work with external contractors to maintain the Universe system.This position provides an important support function to the business, providing Universe system support to the business.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES :Work with IT Manager to support the organization at multiple sites in North America.Handles the daily system administration of Universe including creation and deletion of users, system permissions access and updates.In coordination with other departments, plan and implement the integration of Universe with processes of other applications. Works with department leaders to evolve and improve operational efficiency.Ensures Universe functionality supports business requirements while building and developing performance-focused code. Develop and implement custom modifications and functionality as needed.Provide expert-level support and assistance to users of the UNIVERSE system; troubleshooting, training and problem solving to maintain a high level of customer service to users.Directs the systems functions for the business to ensure compliance with the IT Policy's requirements.Supervise and co-ordinate outsourcing work done on the system. Collaborating with external vendors to optimize the system.Responsible for daily maintenance and support to the Universe system in including the hardware/peripherals to the installed base.Analyze, design, write, debug, test and implement solutions for Universe system as required.Responsible for all routines required to create, generate, and distribute reports (daily, weekly, monthly).Maintain and support custom developed integrations and document work for future reference and improvements.Provide support to other sites across North America including Salt Lake as required.Performs other job-related duties as :A university degree in a related information technology field.PMP certification, is a plusA minimum of 5 years previous experience working in a similar role preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.Advanced knowledge of the Rocket Software Universe 8.5 or later version plus experience with development and support.Strong experience using Red Hat Linux 5. 2 and upStrong problem solving and technical skill; proficient at writing technical documentation; functional requirements, flow charting, data mapping specifications.Preference for experience supporting a full ERP system within a manufacturing operation.Must be able to travel to US to support other sites as required.Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work and communicate with a wide variety of people.Service oriented and customer-focused disposition.Excellent time management and organizational skills; able to prioritize work and ensure task completion.Must be a self-starter that can work well independently with minimal supervision.PERSONAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :Demonstrated problem solving ability working with internal departments to resolve issues.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work with internal departments and external vendors.Must be a self-starter that can work well independently as well as a part of a team.Demonstrates effective time management and organizational skills; able to juggle multiple priorities and demands ensuring expected outcomes are achieved.Possess strong functional and technical knowledge to perform required tasks at a high level of proficiency and accuracy.Has a customer service approach to dealing with people; is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal customers; can establish good working relationships with others building trust, respect and confidence in meeting expectations.Ability to work independently with little supervision; is self-motivated and driven to complete tasks demonstrating autonomy and self-direction.Demonstrates high ethical standards with honesty and integrity in upholding the requirements of the position.SPECIAL FACTORS/WORKING ENVIRONMENT :This position is required on occasion to work additional hours beyond the normal business day in order to meet the requirements for system updates and projects as required.TRAVEL :Travel is required for this position to assist other sites and participate in and attend offsite training as needed. Travel will also be required to assist in the implementation at other sites.WORK ENVIRONMENT :This position works within an office and plant environment while providing system support to the business.PHYSICAL DEMANDS :The incumbent may be required to sit for long periods of time while performing work on a computer at a desk. Use of standard office equipment is required.The incumbent is also required to visit various departments in the plant to provide system support. Use of personal protective equipment in the plant is required.Experience : Using Red Hat Linux 5.2 and up: 5 years (required)License/Certification : PMP certification or working towards the designation (preferred)Skills : Advance level Red Hat Linux 5. 2 and up (5 years) , Rocket Software Universe 8.5 or later version plus experience with development and support , Must have : Work permit for Canada & USNotice Period : Immediate joiner to max 30 days (ref:hirist.tech)
