Position Overview
To manage Integration Testing of automotive embedded software (C++ / C ) at the SoC level.
Responsibilities - Review architectural requirements (HLD) for acceptance with respect to verifiability.
- Translate functional requirements and specifications into documented test plans, cases and steps
independently.
- Independently creation and maintenance of test data, tools and scripts.
- Update or create standard template for test spec and test procedure.
- Update or create standard for software test execution for smoke, regression test.
- Take ownership for standard job instruction software integration.
- Create and maintain lesion learnt across the projects or team.
- Review Test specs, Test procedures and test deliverables.
- Create requirement based test cases and execution.
- Report if there is any gap in code coverage analysis.
- Analyse data and control flow from HLD sequence diagram.
- Report the test failures to the relevant project leads.
- Review test failures reported by subordinated.
- Modify or maintain the test environment and modify if necessary.
- Write test procedure or test steps using automated tool for test execution like CANTATA, RTRT, LDRA
- Create a baseline and prepare deliverables for release.
- Be the owner of technical formal review i.e TR-ITP, ASPICE, ISO 9001:2015
- Test case debugging and reproduction of fault on simulator or emulator (ECU).
- Create software integration test plan with software integration test strategy and methods for the projects.
- Mentor or guide junior engineers for technical enhancement.
- Communicate and report the issues or roadblocks to the test team lead.
- Role may require occasional travel to other company/customer locations
Education/Training
Education:
A relevant Technical Engineering Degree (B.E/B.TECH/MTech) e.g. Computer Science, Electronic Eng., Software
Eng. or equivalent degree.
Training:
Good knowledge of automotive processes and standards such as ISO26262, ASPICE and ASIL Levels
Professional Experience
Essential Experience :
- Must have embedded C and C++ knowledge.
- Good knowledge on software integration test plan and test strategy. Knowledge to update or tailor the integration
test plan from projects to projects.
- Good knowledge on requirements test methods to derive test cases from high-level design.
- Good knowledge on code coverage analysis/ structural analysis.
- Good knowledge on SDLC and STLC.
- Good knowledge on problem reporting and familiar problem reporting life cycle.
- Working experience in automated software integration test bench.
- Knowledge on tool qualification and qualification kit.
- Knowledge on functional safety related projects and functions.
- Knowledge on tool evaluation.
- Created, updated, or maintained software verification plan or software integration test plan with software
integration test strategy and methods or techniques.
- Established software integration test bench by referring test setup manual.
- Created or maintained or updated Software integration test bench for simulator or emulator or ECUs based on
projects need.
- Knowledge on system KPI tests like CPU load, RAM, ROM, Fault injection and Resource utilization test.
- To complete testing in line with agreed timeframes and by following the documented business processes using the
appropriate test management and automation tools. Recognised for qualification in Computer Vision systems.
- Understand automotive testing activities suitable for safety critical software components.
- Identifying issues, risks and dependencies escalating and managing where appropriate.
- Continually update skills by learning new technologies relevant to the role.
- Depth knowledge on software under test and any other software related to it. Like COTs, RTOS, BSP.
- High level of innovation and motivation.
- Knowledge of embedded processor internals (specific hardware blocks and peripherals).
- Exposure to object oriented software design principles.
- Min 10+ years of experience in SW Integration test.
- Worked in a regulated industry such as automotive, aerospace, or healthcare or rail.
- Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
Highly Desirable Experience :
- Test bench setup knowledge for Software integration test.
- Software integration test bench set up with simulator and emulator or hardware (SoC) with Cantata or LDRA or
RTRT.
- Knowledge on Software integration test deliverables.
- Working experience in Sw-Sw to Hw-Sw Integration Test.
