Senior Piping Stress Engineer-offshore
Job Description Job Description summary:
Piping Stress Engineer should have technical expertise on Static and Dynamic analysis of piping systems using software like Rhor2 CAESAR II etc. He/ She should verify the piping layout, supports, and ensure sufficient flexibility of the piping system.
Senior Piping Stress Engineer (8 to 14 Years)
Min offshore experience- 5 years
Should have good knowledge on ASME B31.1 and B31.3 Codes and relevant standards, ASME BPVC Section III and API Standards.
Develop piping stress model and execute dynamic/static piping stress analysis. Should be capable of solving the stress and equipment nozzle failures independently. Should have work experience in solving stress calculations with water hammer, slug, relief valve reaction force, wind, earthquake, snow, ice loads and settlement conditions.
Should have knowledge on hangers and expansion joints.
Should have knowledge on pipe support selection and basic knowledge on evaluation.
Hands on experience on Flange leakage and trunnion check is mandatory.
Perform evaluation of nozzle loads or vessels stress utilizing WRC 107/297.
Should be capable of preparing detailed stress reports or design reports.
Should have knowledge on work package preparation.
Should be capable of reviewing isometric, equipment drawings, piping layout and 3D drawings.
Should be capable of reconciling as-built piping configuration with standard plant design.
Should have strong communication skills.
Should be able to co-ordinate with Clients and manage team.
Leadership skills, Ownership and Responsibility and team mentoring.
- Exhibit leadership skills to manage both technical and team and drive the team to adopt best-in-class practices.
- Monitor & ensure effectiveness of communication across channels within the team as well as with customer; build & sustain healthy relationship & confidence w/ team.
- Cultivate technical knowledge within the team related to applications in the energy sector.
- Identify possible skill-gaps within the team and prepare training plan for the same. Conduct/facilitate knowledge sharing sessions to upskill the team in the areas related to project scope, through internal/external trainings.
- Ensure compliance to Quality processes laid out by the organization and participate in quality audits as necessary.
- Act as the gatekeeper for all deliverables, by conducting technical review before they are formally delivered to client.
- Ensure timely recording & reporting of KPIs; On-time-Delivery, First-Time-Acceptance, Effort Index, etc., as necessary.
- Monitor quality parameters like; quality score, # of turn-backs, # of escapes, and track the same through defect tracking process.
- Ensure well-rounded quality checklists are available to the team to keep up with quality expectation of deliverables.
- Assist the team in resolution of technical queries within the capacity of
- , unless required participation from clients end.
- Participate in meetings technical discussion with the client, as necessary.
- Conduct Scrum meetings with the team, to stay abreast with the status quo of all projects and team assignments and identify & mitigate risk as required.
- Identify resource requirements and proactively take actions with respect to hiring internal/external talent.
- Focus on automation to improve productivity & quality through process automation or tools to perform technical tasks.
