Role
The Procurement Manager will be primarily responsible for developing and implementing procurement procedures, coordinating with vendors, generating purchase orders, and ensuring the procurement of goods and services at the best possible terms. This role involves extensive vendor management, contract management, and overseeing license management and renewals.
Responsibilities
- Developing and implementing effective procurement policies and procedures to guide the purchase of goods and services.
- Engaging in regular coordination with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of goods and services.
- Generating and managing purchase orders, ensuring adherence to budget and specifications.
- Conducting negotiations with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
- Overseeing vendor management processes, including selection, negotiation, and performance evaluation.
- Managing contracts effectively, ensuring compliance and addressing any variances or discrepancies.
- Handling license management, including renewals and compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
- Ensuring cost-effective deals by analyzing market trends and applying best procurement practices.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and challenges.
- Maintaining detailed records of procurement processes, decisions, and contractual agreements.
- Leading continuous improvement initiatives in the procurement function.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Competencies
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in procurement, with a focus on vendor and contract management.
- Proven track record in developing procurement strategies and policies.
- Strong negotiation skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective vendor and stakeholder engagement.
- Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
- Ability to analyze market trends and derive actionable insights.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Working Conditions: Office environment with occasional travel for vendor meetings and industry events.
