ALIGHT Solutions is looking for a highly motivated Network Engineer to provide network and security-based support in a hybrid on-prem / multi-cloud environment.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of on-prem and cloud networking design involving multiple disciplines and collaborate with business units to provide consultation and support.
Provide solutions with a focus on network cloud best practices of simplifying, automating, and standardizing. This role is expected to investigate and support multiple business lines and teams. Using automation via Terraform and Ansible, APIs, and scripting to enhance delivery, testing, and service restoration of cloud platforms and provide agility to the business.

Responsibilities: - Maintain and improve current IP Fabric infrastructure across the on-prem data centers, with a focus on integrating the services provided with the current cloud infrastructure and the future one.
- Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
- Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment to maximize network efficiency and security including routers, switches, firewalls, DNS, and load balancers of the following vendors: Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto, Infoblox, and F5.
- Implement moderate complex solutions in a multi-tiered architecture.
- Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Investigating faults in the infrastructure.
- Performing disaster recovery operations and data backups when required.
- Migrating network services to cloud-native solutions.
- Manage the appropriate network configuration required to deploy cloud services such as EC2, VPC, S3, ECS, RDS, Lambda, and security resource groups.
- Develop network and service-specific designs in support of existing and roadmap network capability.
- Work through ticket Queues (Jira and ServiceNow) and business units and support working automation tasks and AdHoc requests.
- Utilize continuous integration and automation tools such as GIT, Ansible, PowerShell, Cloud Formation Templates, and Terraform for all network-related services and software.
- Provide level 2 support to operational teams to ensure Incident and Problem Management challenges and appropriately managed.
- Assist application and architecture teams with proof-of-concept cloud services and implement the design in a lab environment.
- Collaborate with the architecture team on cloud strategy.
- Collaborate with the operational team on on-prem and cloud maintenance, improvement, and troubleshooting.
- Work with business and project teams to devise technical alternatives.
- Support application and product teams' projects and network specific changes
- Partner with project team members and other stakeholders to solve problems and de.liver effective results.
- Participate in design reviews with other members and groups within the department.
- Keeps abreast of current technology and development tools related to area of expertise.
- Ability to evaluate existing on-prem and cloud network architecture and develop action plans to make necessary improvements.
- Ability to configure, document, and deliver on-prem and cloud-based network solutions within defined time & budget constraints.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree with 7 years hands-on experience in the Network Engineering space (on-prem or Cloud) in a large enterprise setting (15K+ Users).
- 5+ years' work experience designing, executing, and supporting on-prem network services in multi-vendor environments such as Juniper (required), Aruba, F5, Palo Alto, and Infoblox (preferred).
- 2+ years' work experience designing, executing, and supporting network cloud services in a multi-cloud environment such as AWS (required) and Azure (preferred).
- Silverpeak SDWAN experience (preferred).
- DevOps expertise including automation and continuous delivery in AWS (preferred).
- Strong technical documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or relevant field preferred.
- Network certifications such as CCNP and/or JNCIS/JNCIP preferred.
- Cloud network engineering in AWS at scale using Infrastructure as code.
- AWS Certified and Azure certifications preferred.
- 7+ Years of hands-on experience supporting an Enterprise global organization with a network focus.
- 5+ Years of hands-on experience working with Enterprise grade Palo Alto Firewalls.
- 5+ Years of hands-on experience working with Juniper network devices.
- 2+ Years of experience with Azure Networking in a Hybrid setting.
- Expert in Network segmentation, VPNs, Firewalls, IP Routing, BGP, etc.
- Experience with troubleshooting tools like Wireshark or Fiddler.
- Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to identify areas of need for automation and aid in the engineering of better operational solutions.
- Strong communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Knowledge of web services and implementing cloud solutions on AWS platforms.
- Understanding of and experience with the five pillars of a WAF or CAF framework.

Platform Experience: - Palo Alto Firewalls, F5 Load Balancers, Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls, Infoblox and HPE SDWAN, and Wireless.
Cloud Native Tools: - Content Delivery, Application Security, Application Visibility, Security Logging, Network HSM and DNS.
- AWS NLB, ALB, GLB, CloudFront, Firewall Manager Shield, WAF, AWS Console, CloudWatch, CloudHSM and Route53 services.
- Azure PLB, ILB, App Gateway, Front Door, Azure CDN, WAF, DDoS, Azure Monitor, Network Watcher and Dedicated HSM and Azure DNS services.
Non-Native Tools and Technologies: - Palo Alto, F5, Juniper, HPE Aruba, and Infonlox.
- Experience in scripting and automation within Network and Security environments is a plus, including but not limited to Terraform, Python, Ansible, PowerShell, REST and other APIs.
