The Opportunity :
HSBC MSS has established an offshore capability to support the front office. As part of this, Institutional Sales are looking to recruit a talented and result driven individual to be part of the COO team for in Bangalore, an extension of the global Institutional Sales COO team.
The role provides exposure to both front office sales teams and Markets products whilst offering opportunities to directly liaise and develop relationships with other teams including Global Trade & Receivables Finance (GTRF), Global Liquidity & Cash Management (GLCM), and Markets Operations.
The role will entail working with the onshore Institutional Sales Regional Business Managers in onshore, in developing the Institutional Sales Performance Function globally. Key responsibilities will be:
- Support Global Cross region and Cross Asset class Institutional Sales Business Managers
- Ensuring the efficient running of the relevant business front-to-back activities within role remit
- In partnership with embedded control officers, managing the risk and control environment via a robust governance, ensuring all risks are understood, reported and managed within risk appetite.
- Representing the business in regional and global governance forums where appropriate
- Defining future business capabilities and strategy with the business head as appropriate

- Work with the Global team on:
- Ensuring consistent, timely completion of governance information packs and more broadly Management Office collated MI.
- Streamlined Management Office information gathering, production and reporting.
- Supporting business management control activities and other ad hoc tasks required from different asset class.
- Ensure efficient and effective supervisory support.
- Building accurate MI and management packs
- Timely reporting and effective information gathering from key stakeholders.
- Consistent and accurate checks on control reports, markets reports, trade exceptions and escalations

- Evidence of effective support for problems / requests
Customers / Stakeholders
- ICG Business Management, COO Community and other key Front Office resources in London, New York and HK
- Global support functions including Operations, Compliance, Finance and Product Control, and Technology
- Engage and support key Markets stakeholders
- Effective communication networks used to maintain positive relationships and gather momentum on items as necessary
- Ability to drive change with COO Community & Business Managers
- Ability to turn around deliverables with short lead time

Leadership & Teamwork
- Responsible for ensuring seamless communication and teamwork between BM resources in Onshore locations and counterpart resources in Bangalore

- Development, implementation and maintenance of management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels

Management of Risk

- The jobholder is responsible for managing and mitigating operational risks in their day to day operations. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators.

- Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators.
