What you will be doing

Position Summary

Under the general direction of the Director, Infrastructure Transition & Controls, CMDB Director takes overall responsibility for the delivery and continuous improvement of CMDB. Director will lead a team of CMDB analysts and several crucial transformational initiatives.

The nature of the role and operating environment are very dynamic. Role holder will play a pivotal role in transforming CMDB, adopting CSDM, onboarding new acquisitions, and ensuring efficient and efficient use of CMDB data across ITSM practices (and beyond). This requires a strong seasoned leader with proven expertise influencing senior leadership and relentlessly pursuing strategic goals with rapid realization of value through any applicable quick wins.

A strong candidate is expected to have akin relevant industry knowledge, proven track record of building strong business cases and executing large scale ITSM transformations directly impacting thousands of team members.

The CMDB Director will be no stranger to presenting all the way to CIO/CISO with a view of influencing strategic direction on a given matter. Successful candidate is expected to have a pragmatic approach towards ITSM - one that combines no-compromise focus on IT Service stability whilst facilitating rapid pace of change. Automation and value chain simplification will be key to high performance in this role. Focus on strong yet pragmatic governance whilst delivering highly effective CMDB in a shared service and federated manners through partnerships will be pivotal.

This position requires hands on experience and certification (preferred) with core practice areas for ITSM. Organizational Change Management expertise is highly desirable.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Thought leader in CMDB and it's effective and efficient use across core ITSM/ITIL practices and beyond
• Leads efforts to transform and mature CMDB at a rapid pace
• Creates, reinforces and overcommunicates CMDB Strategy with a view of adopting fully CSDM over the span of next 3-5 years
• Owns and executes CMDB Roadmap with support from ITSM Architect, Process Owners/Managers, Developers and BA
• Manges 3rd parties during the specific CMDB related engagements
• Identifies solutions for most pressing business needs and leverages available funding to address it effectively and efficiently. Builds business cases to secure additional funding as required
• Effectively c ollaborates with a wide range of internal stakeholders to reinforce the benefits of highly mature CMDB
• Influences stakeholders to contribute to continuous maturation of CMDB (technical setup, integrations, data taxonomy & quality)
• Leads and develops a team of CMDB Admins
• Actively engages with technical stakeholders on topics of CMDB development and culture change
• Ensures compliance to policies, procedures, and standards
• Communicates organization information through department meetings, one-on-one meetings, and other communication vehicles.
• Supports an environment of open and upward communication with all staff to ensure positive employee morale, effective conflict resolution and upward flow of creative ideas for the benefit of the Company and its employees.
• Documents and presents performance assessments.
• Recognizes and rewards associates commensurate with performance.
• Implements organizational practices for staffing, EEO, diversity, performance management, career development, training, reward and recognition, and retention.
• Fosters open communications, issue escalation and out-of-the-box thinking.
• Provides input to the identification and development of potential future leaders.
• Prior experience in successfully transforming large scale CMDB is mandatory
• Prior ITSM/ITIL Process Owner, Manager, CMDB Architect, developer or BA experience is an advantage
• ITIL V4 certifications highly desirable

What your background should look like

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
• Typically has 10 to 15 years of IT and business/industry work experience, with knowledge of one process/service.
• Requires experience in managing teams and building relationships with people at a variety of levels.
• Requires demonstrated ability to launch and deliver one or more IT project(s) on time and within budget.

MINIMUM SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

• Demonstrated ability to formulate and execute business strategies to exceed operational expectations and further enhance the customer experience.
• Deep understanding of business strategy and ability to translate strategy into system and technology solutions.
• Demonstrated 'hands on' experience working in large-scale environments and tweaking business processes to support growth and productivity
• Demonstrated ability to lead change, able to take calculated risk and seeks continuous improvement
• Demonstrated ability in building a successful organization and experience delivering results via improved customer satisfaction, lower production costs and high levels of employee engagement
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing ability to communicate with customers, associates and management solid teamwork and interpersonal skills
• Strong presentation skills ability to present and discuss strategies and technical information in a manner that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding
• Ability to establish solid relationships with vendors in support of initiatives ability to negotiate and manage outside vendors against deliverables.
• Solid project management skills including the ability to effectively deploy resources and manage multiple projects of various diverse scope in a cross-functional environment
• Knowledge of key technology standards around ITIL and service delivery

$118,000 - 181,720

.This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
