Overview

Avalara is seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager, based in Pune, India. In this role, you will oversee and lead three critical teams: the Partner Engagement Desk Specialists, the Inside Strategic Alliance Managers (iSAMs), and the Inside Strategic Partnership Managers (iSPMs). As the Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our partners have a seamless experience engaging with our partner program while nurturing existing partners to drive revenue and growth. This role requires effective leadership, strategy development, and alignment with Avalara's goals.


Responsibilities

Managerial Responsibilities:

 

1. Team Leadership:

· Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to a team of Partner Engagement Desk Specialists, Inside Strategic Alliance Managers (iSAMs), and Inside Strategic Partnership Managers (iSPMs).

· Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the teams, promoting continuous learning and development.

 

2. Performance Management:

· Set clear performance expectations and goals for team members.

· Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and support career development plans.

 

3. Strategic Planning:

· Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute strategies for partner engagement and growth within the Avalara Partner Program.

· Align team objectives with company goals to drive partner success.

 

4. Resource Management:

· Efficiently allocate resources, including personnel, to meet the demands of both teams and ensure optimal operational efficiency.

 

 

Partner Engagement Desk Responsibilities:

 

1. Partner Program and Partner Portal Expertise:

· Support Partner Engagement Desk Specialists in becoming experts on Avalara's partner program and newly released Partner Portal

· Oversee the onboarding and education of new partners on the program.

 

2. Communication and Documentation:

· Facilitate communication between Partner Engagement Desk Specialists and various Avalara business units to address partner inquiries, concerns, and requests.

· Certify internal processes are well documented and updated as the program evolves.

· Identify gaps in resources or documentation to provide the best possible experience for our partners.

· Ensure team is meeting or exceeding SLAs and working assigned tickets, cases and projects thoroughly.

 

 

Inside Strategic Alliance Manager (iSAM) Team Responsibilities:

 

1. Partner Growth:

· Lead the iSAM team in nurturing and developing relationships with existing partners to drive revenue and growth within the Avalara Partner Program.

· Collaborate with iSAMs to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling Avalara solutions.

2. Performance Metrics:

· Define and track key performance metrics for the iSAM team, ensuring they meet revenue and growth targets.

 

 

Inside Strategic Partnership Manager (iSPM) Team Responsibilities:

 

· Collaborate with North America-based SPM portfolio leaders on setting and steering the responsibilities, tasks, and goals for the iSPMs.

· Coach and manage the iSPMs as they support the account planning & strategy, performance analysis & reporting, and partner relationship management for select strategic technology partners with the North America-based SPM team.

· Coordinate feedback loop to refine and improve new or changed processes.
